‘Integronsters’, integral and integrated modeling

Environmental Modelling & Software, 2013
In many cases model integration treats models as software components only, ignoring the fluid relationship between models and reality, the evolving nature of models and their constant modification and recalibration. As a result, with integrated models we find increased complexity, where changes that used to impact only relatively contained models of ...

INTEGRABLE SIGMA MODELS

International Journal of Modern Physics A, 1991
Integrability of sigma models is investigated in arbitrary dimensions. The conditions of the integrability are found and the corresponding linear eigenvalue equations are given. Some new classes of classically integrable sigma models are found in two and higher dimensions containing all the known models.

A probabilistic model of integration

Decision Support Systems, 2008
We propose a probabilistic model of integration where decisions about integration are made based on the perceived ensuing benefit. Integration proceeds in a pairwise manner. This model provides a way to think formally about the integration processes in networks.

An Integrated Model of Designing

Journal of Computing and Information Science in Engineering, 2010
Current design models and frameworks describe various overlapping fragments of designing. However, little effort exists in consolidating these fragments into an integrated model. We propose a model of designing that integrates product and process facets of designing by combining activities, outcomes, requirements, and solutions. Validation of the model

Tool Integration Models

2013 20th Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC), 2013
This paper presents an extension of a previously presented tool integration approach: tool integration for different scenarios may be specified as integration models, and these integration models can be executed or form the basis of code generation for implementing integration on different platforms.

An introduction to model integration and integrated modeling environments

Decision Support Systems, 1993
Abstract Integrated modeling systems provide support for the definition, manipulation, and control of mathematical models throughout the entire modeling life cycle. Model integration is a particularly crucial operation which requires thinking about “modeling in the large”, and which extends the scope of model management research to include ...

Model-integrated programming

Proceedings of the Thirtieth Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2002
The building of complex, large-scale industrial applications necessitates the integration of models into the problem-solving process. This paper describes a model-integrated program synthesis (MIPS) environment for computer-based system applications.

On Model Integration and Model Integrity

Journal of Strategic and Systemic Therapies, 1984
The possibilities and limitations of various kinds of integrative efforts in the field of family therapy are examined from the point of view of an epistemology of construction. A preference is expressed for the kind of integration that emphasizes model integrity.

An integral assembly model

Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, 1995
Companies are increasingly being put under pressure from the market to design product and production better, faster, cheaper and more market-oriented. Insufficient coherence and synchronization between product, process and system design often lie at the basis of great design efforts and high design costs.
