In this paper, an integral friction model is proposed, defining separately the Dahl, the Stribeck and the microviscous effects. The model is based on an integral closed form solution of the Dahl model. It is shown by simulation that the model is consistent with the LuGre model, while being computationally more efficient.

Integration Adapters are a fundamental part of an integration system, since they provide (business) applications access to its messaging channel. However, their modeling and configuration remain under-represented. In previous work, the integration control and data flow syntax and semantics have been expressed in the Business Process Model and Notation (

Understanding the mechanisms of past climate changes requires modelling of the complex interaction between all major components of the Earth system: atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere, lithosphere and biosphere. This paper reviews attempts at such an integrative approach to modelling climate changes during the glacial age.

Computers now control many critical systems in our lives, from the brakes on our cars to the avionics control systems on planes. Such computers wed physical systems to software, tightly integrating the two and generating complex component interactions unknown in earlier systems.

An integrated approach to IS modeling
Proceedings 1995 Asia Pacific Software Engineering Conference, 2002Application modeling is a major part of IS development. Often the application models are used directly in the implementation. Moreover, most traditional modeling methods are incomplete, and ad hoc methods are used to "fill in the gaps". As industry dependence on software increases, software quality becomes paramount, and such informal practices are no ...

This article describes the range of options for integrating medicine and psychiatry, with a focus on the advantages and limitations of each model. The models were developed in different countries with specific health care cultures. This article illustrates the range of in- and outpatient options as currently practiced, with case reports from ...

Modeling Multisensory Integration
2014The different senses, such as vision, touch, or audition, often provide redundant information for perceiving our environment. For instance, the size of an object can be determined by both sight and touch. In this chapter, Loes C.J. van Dam, Cesare V Parise, and Marc Ernst discuss the statistical optimal framework for combining redundant sensory ...

The parallel programs can be integrated into the parallel software in order to avoid different departments or different applications developing a same type of parallel programs many times. This article brought forward a parallel integration model. In which, the parallel programs need interoperate each other for the integration, and the interoperation ...

Convergence of the Integration Dynamics of the Construction–Integration Model
Journal of Mathematical Psychology, 2001The connectionist network corresponding to the nonlinear integration dynamical system associated with Kintsch's construction-integration (CI) model is analysed with linear algebra tools. This addresses some theoretical questions raised and left unanswered by Rodenhausen (1992, Psychological Review 99, 547-549).
