Enhanced Terahertz Spectroscopy of a Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenide
An ad‐hoc engineered metallic surface is employed to perform enhanced terahertz spectroscopy of a monolayer transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD). Thanks to a local absorption boost of 104, this technique allows for the extraction of the phonon resonance features and effective permittivity of the 2D material, paving the way for the rational design of ...

The non‐fullerene acceptor o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV is used in both binary and ternary blends to investigate the role that it plays in each device architecture. The charge generation pathways are found to differ between the binary and ternary blends with o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV becoming a second donor in the ternary blend.

Vivid Structural Coloration in Transparent MXene‐Cellulose Nanocrystals Composite Films
Vivid structural coloration in reflectance and high transparency in transmittance modes are observed in biopolymer‐layered composite films. The ultrathin multilayered structures have unique optical appearance, near‐infrared bandgap, and strong optical reflection caused by alternating MXene and cellulose nanocrystals layers with high refractive index ...

This review synthesizes the evolution of radiative heat transfer, emphasizing the transition from far‐field to near‐field regimes. Traditional frameworks, such as Planck's law, are revisited alongside modern innovations like fluctuational electrodynamics. Applications span nanoscale thermal management, energy harvesting, and thermophotovoltaic systems.

Mean Number and Number Variance of Squeezed Coherent Photons In a Thermal State of Photons [PDF]
We consider the equilibrium thermal state of photons and determine the mean number and number variance of squeezed coherent photons. We use an integral representation for electro-magnetic radiation applicable both to systems in equilibrium and to systems in nonequilibrium to determine the spectral function of the radiation.

Waveguide single-photon detectors for integrated quantum photonic circuits [PDF]
The generation, manipulation and detection of quantum bits (qubits) encoded on single photons is at the heart of quantum communication and optical quantum information processing. The combination of single-photon sources, passive optical circuits and single-photon detectors enables quantum repeaters and qubit amplifiers, and also forms the basis of all ...

Fabrication and Characterization of On-Chip Integrated Silicon Photonic Bragg Grating and Photonic Crystal Cavity Thermometers [PDF]
We report on the fabrication and characterization of photonic-based nanothermometers, a silicon photonic Bragg grating and photonic crystal cavity. When cladded with silicon dioxide layer the sensors have at least eight times better sensitivity compared to the sensitivity of conventional fiber Bragg grating sensors.
