Strain-optic active control for quantum integrated photonics
We present a practical method for active phase control on a photonic chip that has immediate applications in quantum photonics. Our approach uses strain-optic modification of the refractive index of individual waveguides, effected by a millimeter-scale mechanical actuator.

Integrated optical approach to trapped ion quantum computation
Recent experimental progress in quantum information processing with trapped ions have demonstrated most of the fundamental elements required to realize a scalable quantum computer. The next set of challenges lie in realization of a large number of qubits and the means to prepare, manipulate and measure them, leading to error-protected qubits and fault ...

Witnessing nonclassicality through large deviations in quantum optics
Nonclassical correlations in quantum optics as resources for quantum computation are important in the quest for highly specialized quantum devices. Here, we put forward a methodology to witness nonclassicality of the output field from a generic quantum ...

Integrated waveguide circuits for optical quantum computing
Although practical realisation of a fully functioning quantum computer is still a long way off, recent progress both experimentally and theoretically is paving the way for possible implementations. One of the leading approaches is quantum optics, where photons are used as carriers of quantum information, and are manipulated in both linear and non ...

Integrated Photonics for Quantum Optics
Quantum physics allows us a vision of Nature's forces that bind the world, all its seeds and sources. After decades of primarily scientific research, we've arrived at a stage in time where quantum technology can be applied to practical problems and add value outside the field.
