Repair Checking by Integrity Checking

2016 27th International Workshop on Database and Expert Systems Applications (DEXA), 2016
Repairs are updates to reduce inconsistency. Repair checking finds out if an update is a repair. To do so, we check if the undo of the update increases the amount of integrity violation, using measure-based integrity checking. Sound repair checking by integrity checking requires the latter to be complete.

Ubi-Check: A Pervasive Integrity Checking System

open access: yes, 2009
Integrity checking is an important concern in many activities, such as logistic, telecommunication or even day to day tasks such as checking for someone missing in a group. While the computing and telecommunication worlds commonly use digital integrity checking, many activities from the real world do not beneficiate from automatic mechanisms for ...

Checking the integrity of trees

Twenty-Fifth International Symposium on Fault-Tolerant Computing. Digest of Papers, 2002
We describe a general checking the integrity of data structures corrupted by memory faults. Our approach is based on a recursive checksum technique. Basic methods of using checksums have been previously seen to be useful for detecting faults at the bit or word level; among our results is their extension to the node level. The major contributions of our

An integration of model checking with automated proof checking

1995
Although automated proof checking tools for general-purpose logics have been successfully employed in the verification of digital systems, there are inherent limits to the efficient automation of expressive logics. If the expressiveness is constrained, there are useful logic fragments for which efficient decision procedures can be found.

External Integrity Checking with Invariants

2011 IEEE 17th International Conference on Embedded and Real-Time Computing Systems and Applications, 2011
In order to enhance OS security, most of people use security patches to fix the vulnerabilities of the OS. However, the security patches may also incur vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities are generated since most OSes has a lot of functionalities and their functionalities are very complex to manage the entire source code manually. Moreover, in order

Measure-Based Repair Checking by Integrity Checking

2016
Quality damage in databases can be measured by seizing extant inconsistency, i.e., by quantifying the amount of violation of integrity constraints. A repair is an update that reduces inconsistency and hence improves data quality. Repair checking finds out if a given update is a repair or not.

Chaotic Integrity Check Value

2011
Chaotic cryptography is slowly emerging as a subfield of cryptography. Many encryption algorithms, secure hash functions and random number generators have been proposed in the literature which are based on well-known chaotic functions. Chaotic keyed hash functions are proposed in the literature but have not been analysed for integrity check value ...
