A general approach to the linear stability of viscoelastic shear‐flows

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 106, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract The present work provides an in‐depth analysis of the linear stability theory of viscoelastic shear‐flows, based upon a constitutive equation of the fading memory type. The particular model considered herein was introduced by Kenneth Walters through the integration of classical rate‐type fluids in a convected frame (Walters 1962).

Harmonic Functions for a Class of Integro-differential Operators [PDF]

open access: yesPotential Analysis, 2009
We consider the operator $\sL$ defined on $C^2(\bR^d)$ functions by \sL f(x)&=&{1/2}\sum_{i,j=1}^d a_{ij}(x)\frac{\partial^2f(x)}{\partial x_i\partial x_j}+\sum_{i=1}^d b_i(x)\frac{\partial f(x)}{\partial x_i} &+&\int_{\bR^d\backslash\{0\}}[f(x+h)-f(x)-1_{(|h|\leq1)}h\cdot \grad f(x)]n(x,h)dh. Under the assumption that the local part of

Mathematical Modeling of Measured Recalescence Velocities

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 2, Page 977-988, 30 January 2026.
ABSTRACT A moving‐boundary problem of synchronous directional and volumetric solidification in undercooled liquid drops is formulated and solved. Directional solidification is caused by the temperature gradient along the spatial direction, whereas volumetric growth of new phase elements is caused by the melt undercooling ahead of the phase transition ...

Learning nonlinear integral operators via recurrent neural networks and its application in solving integro-differential equations

open access: yesMachine Learning with Applications
In this paper, we propose using LSTM-RNNs (Long Short-Term Memory-Recurrent Neural Networks) to learn and represent nonlinear integral operators that appear in nonlinear integro-differential equations (IDEs).

Exponential behavior of neutral impulsive stochastic integro-differential equations driven by Poisson jumps and Rosenblatt process

open access: yesNonautonomous Dynamical Systems, 2020
In this article, we are concerned with the neutral impulsive stochastic integro-differential equations driven by Poisson jumps and Rosenblatt process.

An Integro-differential Operator Approach to Linear Differential Systems

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2022
In this paper, we initiate a new algebraic analysis approach to linear differential systems based on rings of integro-differential operators. Within this algebraic analysis approach, we first interpret the method of variations of constants as an operator identity.

Active Sampling of Interpolation Points to Identify Dominant Subspaces for Model Reduction

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 1, 15 January 2026.
ABSTRACT Model reduction is an active research field to construct low‐dimensional surrogate models of high fidelity to accelerate engineering design cycles. In this work, we investigate model reduction for linear structured systems using dominant reachable and observable subspaces.

On Recovering Integro-Differential Operators from the Weyl Function

open access: yesIzvestiya of Saratov University. New Series. Series: Mathematics. Mechanics. Informatics, 2017
Summary: We study inverse problems of spectral analysis for second order integro-differential operators, which are a perturbation of the Sturm-Liouville operator by the integral Volterra operator. We pay the main attention to the nonlinear inverse problem of recovering the potential from the given Weyl function provided that the kernel of the integral ...

Fundamental operator functions of integro-differential operators under spectral or polynomial boundedness [PDF]

open access: yesUfa Mathematical Journal, 2020
Summary: We study a Cauchy problem for a degenerate higher order integro-differential equation in Banach spaces. The operator kernel of the integral part of the equation is a linear combination of the operator coefficients of its differential part, which corresponds to the physical meaning of some technological processes. The solution is constructed in

On the Noisy Road to Open Quantum Dynamics: The Place of Stochastic Hamiltonians

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 1, January 2026.
Stochastic Hamiltonian formulations of open quantum dynamics are revisited, highlighting their roots in stochastic calculus. The connections among stochastic Hamiltonians, stochastic Schrödinger equations, and master‐equation approaches are made explicit.
