Documenting Sociopolitical Development via Participatory Action Research (PAR) With Women of Color Student Activists in the Neoliberal University [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Political activism attests to the sociopolitical development and agency of young people. Yet the literature sparingly engages the intersectional subjectivities that inform the sociopolitical development of young people, especially women of color ...

Intellectual Pride And Intellectual Humility [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Pride is a notion with both positive and negative connotations. On the one hand, we urge people to take pride in their work, and we think it appropriate to be proud of the achievements of our offspring. Macrophage Extracellular Traps in Immunity and Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.

IGFBP5 Restores Endometrial Receptivity and Rescues Implantation Failure in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Impaired endometrial receptivity contributes to the poor pregnancy outcomes in women with PCOS. The authors found that decreased endometrial IL‐22 levels and disrupted STAT3‐IGFBP5 signaling pathway contributed to impaired endometrial receptivity. Supplementation with IL‐22 or IGFBP5 exerts a protective effect on implantation failure in PCOS‐like mice,

Profiling Localized Immunomodulation and Drug Biodistribution within a Subcutaneous Vascularized Niche for Cell Transplantation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We studied how five common immunosuppressants behave when delivered directly to a transplant site instead of systemically. Using a vascularized implant for islet transplantation, we show that local delivery protects grafts, limits drug spread to the rest of the body, and produces distinct immune signatures.

Adult Sex Ratio as a Demographic Feedback Linking Mating Systems, Parental Care, and Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Breeding systems are some of the most diverse social behavior, and our team is investigation the evolutionary causes of this diversity. This review summarises our research carried out at the University of Bath. We argue that demographic components of wild populations, especially the adult sex ratio, plays a key role driving breeding system variation ...
