Evaluating intelligent sprayers and warning systems for apple IPM in Iowa

Apples are an economically valuable fruit crop in the United States. However, managing pests and diseases that target apples is costly and can pose health and environmental hazards. Current chemical management strategies include using air-assisted (airblast) sprayers to apply pesticides and calendar-based spray schedules to time pesticide applications.
