Comparison of motion sensor and heart rate monitor for assessment of physical activity intensity in stroke outpatient rehabilitation sessions: an observational study

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation Medicine
Objective: To compare the estimation of time spent on 4 categories of physical activity intensity (sedentary behaviour, light physical activity, moderate physical activity, and vigorous physical activity) between a motion sensor and a heart rate monitor ...

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Time, the final frontier

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This article advocates integrating temporal dynamics into cancer research. Rather than relying on static snapshots, researchers should increasingly consider adopting dynamic methods—such as live imaging, temporal omics, and liquid biopsies—to track how tumors evolve over time.

Clasificarea semantică a verbelor în limba română

open access: yesPhilologia
The main objective of the article is to create a typology of verbs according to their semantic features. The most general features that define the verb are examined and described in terms of the three components of its functional-semantic value ...

Intensity adaptive optics

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications
Abstract Adaptive optics (AO) is a powerful tool employed across various research fields, from aerospace to microscopy. Traditionally, AO has focused on correcting optical phase aberrations, with recent advances extending to polarisation compensation.

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.
