Effect of IMRT and three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy on oral Candida colonization: A comparative study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Research and Review, 2017
Aim: To investigate oral candidiasis in patients with head and neck cancer before and after intensity-modulated radiation therapy and three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D CRT) and to explore if there is an association with the type of ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Treated with Precision-Oriented Radiation Therapy Techniques Including Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy: Preliminary Results

open access: yesKaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, 2004
This paper reports preliminary results with intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Between August 2000 and May 2001, we treated 19 patients with NPC using IMRT.

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Intensity modulated radiotherapy in postoperative treatment of cervical cancer [PDF]

open access: yesMedicinski Podmladak, 2019
Introduction: Postoperative radiotherapy in patients with cervical cancer significantly reduces the risk of loco-regional disease relapse, but at the same time is associated with increased toxicity at surrounding healthy organs and tissues.
