Physics at the High Intensity Frontier

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2006
I review the main theoretical motivations for the construction of new facilities for HEP operating at very high intensity. The common theme in this research is the exploration of the flavour structure of the quark and lepton sectors: I will justify the need for a continued study of these phenomena at a time when the other frontier, the high-energy one,

Forecasting Bankruptcy and Physical Default Intensity [PDF]

open access: possible, 2007
This report presents two of our investigations: one is to obtain an accurate forecast for the corporate bankruptcy; the other is to obtain a physical default intensity. Both investigations were based on the hazard model, using only firm-specific accounting variables as predictors.

Effect on Women of Physical Training with Low Intensities

Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 1971
Untrained women took part in 30 min of physical training 3 times a week for 6 weeks. One group trained on bicycle ergometers and a second group by walking. The work load and walking speed corresponded to 50–60% of the individual maximal aerobic power. The first group achieved a significant 6% increase in maximal oxygen uptake and a drop in heart rate ...

Fundamental Physics at the Intensity Frontier

2016
The Proceedings of the 2011 workshop on Fundamental Physics at the Intensity Frontier. Science opportunities at the intensity frontier are identified and described in the areas of heavy quarks, charged leptons, neutrinos, proton decay, new light weakly-coupled particles, and nucleons, nuclei, and atoms.
