Survey analysis of chorus intensity at Saturn [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2014
AbstractIn order to conduct theoretical studies or modeling of pitch angle scattering of electrons by whistler mode chorus emission at Saturn, a knowledge of chorus occurrence and magnetic intensity levels, PB, as well as the distribution of PB relative to frequency and spatial parameters is essential. In this paper an extensive survey of whistler mode

Respiratory Intensive Care: A 10-Year Survey [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1974
The work of the respiratory intensive care unit at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary covering a period of 10 years and involving more than 2,000 patients has been analysed. The rate of admission of patients with acute respiratory or metabolic disturbances remained surprisingly constant over the years, allowing for the increase in available beds after 1965. A

Dieticians’ practices in intensive care: A national survey

open access: yesClinical Nutrition ESPEN, 2021
A real public health problem, namely, malnutrition in the hospital, also concerns intensive care patients. The diagnosis and prevention of malnutrition are major issues in the multidisciplinary management of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Survey of alarms in an intensive therapy unit* [PDF]

open access: yesAnaesthesia, 1986
Summary The origin and frequency of alarm soundings in a general purpose intensive therapy unit were recorded by the nursing staff for 3 weeks. Only eight out of a total of 1455 soundings indicated potentially life threatening problems. There were many false alarms from the monitoring system and the infusion rate pump.

A Survey of Data-Intensive Scientific Workflow Management [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Grid Computing, 2015
Nowadays, more and more computer-based scientific experiments need to handle massive amounts of data. Their data processing consists of multiple computational steps and dependencies within them. A data-intensive scientific workflow is useful for modeling such process.

The PAU survey: Ly α intensity mapping forecast [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2020
ABSTRACT In this work, we explore the application of intensity mapping to detect extended Ly α emission from the IGM via cross-correlation of PAUS images with Ly α forest data from eBOSS and DESI. Seven narrow-band (FWHM = 13 nm) PAUS filters have been considered, ranging from 455 to 515 nm in steps of 10 nm, which allows the observation

Tracheostomy procedures in the intensive care unit: an international survey [PDF]

open access: yesCritical Care, 2015
Abstract Introduction Percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy (PDT) is one of the most frequent procedures performed in the intensive care unit (ICU). PDT may add potential benefit to clinical management of critically ill patients. Despite this, no clinical guidelines are available.
