Phased-array antennas for inter-satellite links
2010 Australian Communications Theory Workshop (AusCTW), 2010Antennas are key components of inter-satellite links (ISLs). To achieve the necessary antenna gains with modest physical size, directional Ka or V Band antennas are required that may be steered throughout the duration of the ISL. This paper considers options for ISL antennas on low-earth orbit satellites that avoid any mechanical steering.

The optics mechanical module for inter-satellite link
SPIE Proceedings, 2016Inter-satellite link (ISL) is a system of several satellites, which encircle the earth and spaced at a fixed distance from each other - of about 3000 kilometers. The optical-mechanical module (MOM) for the ISL is designed to transmit data over long distances in a small range of angles.

Optical Inter Satellite Links for Broadband Networks
2019 9th International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies (RAST), 2019Inter Satellite Links (ISL)are essential to connect Satellites operating in a constellation. If these ISLs could manage high data rates in Gigabit per seconds the network becomes a broadband connectivity services. New possibilities for data exchange and independencies from ground networks are offered.

Inter-satellite laser link simulation analysis
SPIE Proceedings, 2015The characteristic of satellite communication link was firstly described and four application modes were put forward. By comparison, it is suggested that microwave link is used in satellite-to-ground communication and laser link is used in inter-satellite communication. Secondly the condition and composition of laser link establishment was analyzed and

Link Stability Based Comprehensive Weighted Strategy for Inter-satellite Link Assignment
2015 Seventh International Symposium on Parallel Architectures, Algorithms and Programming (PAAP), 2015The inter-satellite distance, visibility, resource utilization and link stability are important factors in the inter-satellite link assignment. In this paper, we consider of the above factors comprehensively and propose a new assignment strategy using comprehensive weighted ideas firstly.

Introduction of the IiNUSAT inter-satellite link system
2012 IEEE International Conference on Communication, Networks and Satellite (ComNetSat), 2012This paper concerns with the main considerations for designing the Inter Satellite Link (ISL) for the system of IiNUSAT. It starts with the assessment of microwave spectrums required for operating the RF antennas and transceivers. In particular an analysis of how to cope with Doppler effects which inherently present in LEO system is presented.

Download Traffic Scheduling for CubeSats Swarms with Inter-Satellite Links
2019 29th International Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference (ITNAC), 2019This paper considers maximizing the total downloaded data from a CubeSats swarm to ground stations. The key challenges include intermittent contact time and duration with ground stations, and limited resources. It aims to study the benefits of transferring data over Inter-Satellite Links (ISLs). It presents four satellite-to-ground (s-g) pairing rules;
