Evaluating SWOT in the Coastal Zone: Comparisons With Tide Gauge and Airborne LiDAR in the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary, UK

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Traditional nadir altimeters struggle with coastal water surface elevation (WSE) measurement and fine‐scale river‐estuary interactions, due to land‐water signal interference and their wide inter‐track spacing.

Linker‐Engineered Dimeric Acceptors Afford Efficient Organic Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution via Tailored Nanomorphology for Long‐Lived Charge Accumulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a new series of monomeric (MY) and dimeric acceptors incorporating unfused (DY1) and fused (DY2) linkers, which establish a controlled self‐aggregation trend of MY > DY2 > DY1. The DY2‐based system yields a bulk‐heterojunction nanoparticle morphology that appears to balance phase separation and interfacial accessibility, consistent with ...

A deep-learning enhanced computational optical decoding strategy (DECODS) for optical data storage

open access: yesPhotoniX
Traditional optical data storage (ODS) systems face constraints imposed by the optical diffraction limit. It prevents reliable recognition of closely spaced symbols, forcing heavy reliance on error correction codes (ECC) and capping storage density and ...

A Dual‐Bioresponsive and Programmable Microneedle Matrix as a Bioinspired Coupler for Orchestrating Diabetic Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This project developed a smart bandage‐like patch (a microneedle array) for repairing diabetic bone damage. It intelligently senses signals from infection and inflammation, then releases its medicines in a specific, timed sequence: first an antibacterial agent, then an anti‐inflammatory agent, and finally growth factors.

The Role of Independent Regulatory Agencies in Water Access: Evidence from Latin America and the Caribbean [PDF]

open access: yes
This empirical study investigates the impact of independent regulatory agencies on access to safely managed water in the region during 2000-2022. Utilizing a dynamic panel estimator with bootstrap-based bias correction, we find a positive effect of these

Nocturnal Intraocular Pressure Monitoring With a Soft Contact Lens Sensor for Glaucoma Management

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soft contact lens sensor enables continuous, noninvasive monitoring of nocturnal intraocular pressure (IOP) under closed‐eye sleep conditions. By integrating a highly compliant inductive–capacitive circuit onto a commercial lens, the device achieves record sensitivity and stable performance.

Getting the host antiviral machinery back on track: Targeting viral suppressors of RNA interference

open access: yes
Despite the successful efforts at curtailing the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the persistent threat of long-term SARS-CoV-2 infections, co-infections, and other pandemic potential viruses remains an ongoing and pressing issue.
