DOLPHIN for inter-vehicle communications system

Proceedings of the IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium 2000 (Cat. No.00TH8511), 2002
Inter-vehicle communications (IVC) technology for group cooperative driving has been studied by the Association of Electronic Technology for Automobile Traffic and Driving (JSK) since 1980 in Japan. The study of the IVC technology has been focussed on the communication protocol.

Towards an Inter-vehicle Communication Algorithm

2006 3rd International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2006
This article examines the potential role of wireless ad-hoc networks and the LORA-CBF routing algorithm for inter-vehicular communications in the context of optimizing traffic flow and increasing vehicular safety. The LORA-CBF algorithm is discussed in detail and preliminary test bed results are provided, followed by recommendations for future research.

Grouped Interference Alignment in Inter-Vehicle Communications

2012 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2012
This paper investigates the application of interference alignment (IA) to inter-vehicle communications for further performance improvement. In conventional IA in the spatial domain, the number of antennas of each terminal limits the number of terminals, and therefore the sum rate performance is upper-bounded. This paper shows that when IA is applied to

Wireless Inter-Vehicle Communication for Hazard Warning

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2001
Abstract Increasing automotive safety may be achieved by notifying drivers about incidents ahead. To enable drivers for proper reaction a warning system has been developed. Safety-related information is transmitted from one vehicle to surrounding vehicles by direct wireless data communication. The system evaluates some signals provided by the vehicle

FleetNet - applications for inter-vehicle communication

IEEE IV2003 Intelligent Vehicles Symposium. Proceedings (Cat. No.03TH8683), 2004
The FleetNet project aims at the development and demonstration of a wireless ad-hoc network for inter-vehicle communications. Key design factors for FleetNet are the capability to distribute locally relevant data where generated and/or needed and to satisfy the vehicle drivers' and passengers' needs for location-dependent information and services.

Emergency Broadcast Protocol for Inter-Vehicle Communications

11th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems (ICPADS'05), 2006
The most important goal in transportation systems is to reduce the dramatically high number of accidents and fatal consequences. One of the most important factors that would make it possible to reach this goal is the design of effective broadcast protocols.

Wireless Inter-Vehicle Communication Among VEX Robots

2019 IEEE 11th International Conference on Engineering Education (ICEED), 2019
Dramatic advances towards the development of robotic networks occurred in the past few years. The availability of such robotic networks has not only promoted research in coordinated control theories, but also helped to introduce these cutting-edge topics into undergraduate robotic courses and curriculum.

Sensor Inter-Vehicle Communication for Safer Highways

19th International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications (AINA'05) Volume 1 (AINA papers), 2005
In this paper we present a sensor inter-vehicle communication protocol based on geographical routing. Sensors installed in cars continuously gather important information about: air bags, distance detection, mechanical and electronic parts, tire pressure, collision force, direction of impact and the car and its passengers' conditions.
