Inter mode vertex-based optimal shape coding

1999 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings. ICASSP99 (Cat. No.99CH36258), 1999
This paper investigates the problem of optimal lossy encoding of object contours in the inter mode. Contours are approximated by connected second-order spline segments, each defined by three consecutive control points. Taking into account correlations in the temporal direction, control points are chosen optimally in the rate-distortion sense.

Inter-plane prediction for RGB video coding

2004 International Conference on Image Processing, 2004. ICIP '04., 2005
This paper presents an efficient video coding method in RGB space. Generally RGB space is regarded as a bad space from a compression point of view. Each RGB component contains the color information along with luminance information. This redundancy degrades the coding efficiency.

Deep Inter Coding with Interpolated Reference Frame for Hierarchical Coding Structure

2020 IEEE International Conference on Visual Communications and Image Processing (VCIP), 2020
In the hybrid video coding framework, inter prediction is an efficient tool to exploit temporal redundancy. Since the performance of inter prediction depends on the content of reference frames, coding efficiency can be significantly improved by having more effective reference frames.

Inter-track interference free coding and equalization

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1997
Abstract A new coding technique using improved inter-track orthogonal coding (ITOC) was proposed for high track density and/or multi-track recording. The coding has, in principle, the ability to eliminate cross talk from adjacent tracks. The new coding was compared with direct NRZI by a computer simulation.

Streptomyces Bacteria: Specialized Metabolism, Inter-species Interations and Non-coding RNAs

2016
Streptomyces bacteria are abundant in soil environments, where they have an unusual multicellular life cycle that involves filamentous growth and spore formation. They also produce an extraordinary range of compounds known as specialized metabolites , and it is through these compounds that they interact with many of their terrestrial neighbours ...

Neural Inter-Frame Compression for Video Coding

2019 IEEE/CVF International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV), 2019
While there are many deep learning based approaches for single image compression, the field of end-to-end learned video coding has remained much less explored. Therefore, in this work we present an inter-frame compression approach for neural video coding that can seamlessly build up on different existing neural image codecs.

Interative (“turbo”) decoding of threshold decodable codes

European Transactions on Telecommunications, 1995
AbstractIn this paper we extend the idea of iterative decoding of two‐dimensional systematic convolutional codes ‐ so‐called “turbo” codes ‐ to threshold decoding. A threshold decoding algorithm is presented which uses soft information from the channel and a priori values in order to generate soft outputs.

Scalable video coding: Analysis and coding performance of inter-layer prediction

2007 9th International Symposium on Signal Processing and Its Applications, 2007
The emerging scalable video coding specification, which is a layered extension of the H.264/AVC specification, introduces several inter-layer prediction modes to increase the compression rate. A major drawback of these prediction modes, is the increased complexity of the encoder.

Robust video coding over wireless channels using TRIRF inter-frame coding

WCNC. 1999 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (Cat. No.99TH8466), 2003
In video communication systems based on motion-compensated predictive coding, transmission errors cause spatial and temporal distortion propagation during; the reconstruction of the video sequence at the receiver. Two commonly used techniques to stop error propagation are (1) periodic refreshing by intra-frame coding and (2) retransmission.
