We present high-resolution (30"-1') 12, 25, 60, and 100 micron images of 106 interacting galaxy systems contained in the IRAS Revised Bright Galaxy Sample (RBGS, Sanders et al.

Cycling water‐in‐salt batteries involves complex degradation processes that require multiprobe analysis. Using online electrochemical mass spectrometry (OEMS), postmortem X‐ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) (including hard‐XPS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the degradation mechanisms are examined in composite electrodes (TiS2 and LiFePO4)

Discovery of Giant Bubbles in the Hot Gaseous Halo of the Massive Disk Galaxy NGC 6286
Based on archival Chandra X-ray observation, optical integral-field spectroscopic data, and radio interferometric data, we report the discovery of a pair of giant bubbles (with a projected radius ∼5 kpc) of ionized gas emerging from a highly inclined ...

We perform a statistical analysis of AGN host characteristics and nuclear activity for AGNs in pairs and without companions. Our study concerns a sample of AGNs derived from the SDSS-DR4 data by Kauffmann et al (2003) and pair galaxies obtained from the same data set by Alonso et al. (2006).

Internal kinematics of modelled interacting disc galaxies
We present an investigation of galaxy-galaxy interactions and their effects on the velocity fields of disc galaxies in combined N-body/hydrodynamic simulations, which include cooling, star formation with feedback, and galactic winds. Rotation curves (RCs)

Pair-Matching of Radio-Loud and Radio-Quiet AGNs
Active galactic nuclei (AGNs) are known to cover an extremely broad range of radio luminosities and the spread of their radio-loudness is very large at any value of the Eddington ratio.

The Curious Case of CysE: Diversity and Distribution of Serine Acetyltransferases in Bacteria
ABSTRACT Serine acetyltransferase (CysE) is a member of the left‐handed β‐helix family of acetyltransferases that catalyze the rate limiting step in de novo cysteine biosynthesis. There are two isoforms of CysE that differ in length, with the shorter isoform lacking approximately 76 amino acids at the N‐terminus of the protein from the serine ...

Interacting Galaxies with MOND
We compare N-body simulations performed in MOND with analogs in Newtonian gravity with dark matter (DM). We have developed a code which solves the Poisson equation in both gravity models. It is a grid solver using adaptive mesh refinement techniques, allowing us to study isolated galaxies as well as interacting galaxies.
