Choosing the right crowdsourcing strategy: Implications for governments' crowdsourcing initiatives

open access: yesPublic Administration Review, Volume 85, Issue 5, Page 1302-1315, September/October 2025.
Abstract Building on recent advances in crowdsourcing research, we argue that, when using crowdsourcing, governments should accurately select the crowd they wish to engage with, depending on the problem to be solved. While targeting a large crowd may be common, it is not always the most appropriate: it can waste significant resources without ...

Gravity Wave Variability in the Arctic Winter Mesosphere in Relation With the Stratospheric Polar Vortex

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 130, Issue 16, 28 August 2025.
Abstract In this study, we have investigated short‐period (< ${< } $1 hr) atmospheric gravity waves (AGWs) in the Arctic mesosphere‐lower thermosphere (MLT) region during January of 2014, 2015, and 2016. We used OH (3,1) band emission data from the Advanced Mesospheric Temperature Mapper (AMTM) at the Arctic Lidar Observatory for Middle Atmosphere ...

Improved Simulation of Particle Number Concentrations Over the US: Integrating a Size‐Resolved Advanced Particle Microphysics Model Into CMAQ

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 130, Issue 16, 28 August 2025.
Abstract Accurate representation of aerosol size distributions and total number concentrations is critical for evaluating particle impacts on climate, clouds, and public health. An Advanced Particle Microphysics model (APM) has been integrated into the USEPA's Community Multiscale Air Quality Modeling System (CMAQ) to improve its representation of ...

Characterization of the Cubamyces Menziesii Terpenome

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 26, Issue 15, August 22, 2025.
The genome of Cubamyces menziesii reveals 18 putative sesquiterpene cyclase genes. These genes are cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli, yielding 10 active enzymes. Using farnesyl diphosphate as substrate, the enzymes are analyzed, and the products characterized after bioconversion, uncovering diverse sesquiterpene structures. This study highlights
