Materials of Embodied Interaction

open access: yes, 2012
Embodied interaction refers to the way our perception of physical and social phenomena develops in interplay with the world we live in [6]. This paper explores the use of interactive textile interfaces to enable embodied interactions with a robot ...

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Dynamics of thermophoretic waves in graphene sheets: on the study of interaction phenomena

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
This study focuses on the equation of graphene sheets with variable coefficients in a (2 + 1)-dimensional context. This equation describes the thermophoretic wave motion of wrinkles in graphene sheets.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Experiencing information seeking and learning: a study of the interaction between two phenomena

open access: yesInformation Research: An International Electronic Journal, 1999
Reports the design and findings of a research project for a doctoral thesis on information seeking and use in a learning context. Theoretical frames were found in LIS use and user studies and in phenomenographic learning theory.

Intelligent Tutoring Systems for Adult Learning in STEM Disciplines

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) are reshaping adult learning in STEM by providing adaptive, data‐driven instruction across classrooms, workplaces, and informal environments. In the context of ITS, this article compares generative AI, which creates personalized explanations and practice materials, with explainable AI, which focuses on ...

Noise Induced Phenomena in the Dynamics of Two Competing Species [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Noise through its interaction with the nonlinearity of the living systems can give rise to counter-intuitive phenomena. In this paper we shortly review noise induced effects in different ecosystems, in which two populations compete for the same resources.
