Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A dual device scenario for informal language learning: interactive television meets the mobile phone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Researchers have investigated the possibilities for supporting language learning through a range of technologies, most recently mobile phones and interactive television (iTV).

Explaining Polyphony in Interactive Arts [PDF]

open access: yesپیکره
Introduction: Postmodernism serves as a dynamic foundation for the creation of new theories and forms that have brought about remarkable transformations across various fields. Some of these theories critique the very nature of modern art and pave the way

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Interactive system testing using interaction sequences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Interaction sequences (ISeqs) are an abstraction of interactive systems which allow us to inspect the interactive system behaviour. In this research, ISeqs are used to support interactive system testing. In interactive system testing the components of an

Interactive Selection of Reference Sets in Multistage Bipolar Method

open access: yesEntropy
In this paper, the Multistage Bipolar method is developed. The paper presents a synthesis of three streams related to multiple criteria decision-making: the reference point-based approach, the interactive approach and multistage decision processes.

Interactive architectural approach (interactive architecture): An effective and adaptive process for architectural design

open access: yesHBRC Journal, 2016
This research attempts to offer a new approach for architectural design process that the concepts of interaction and multi-relations are being achieved through it. This approach, which is identified as an interactive architecture, suggests a process that

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
