Low‐Intensity Precipitation Dominates Peninsular Spain (1961–2022)
Spatial analysis across Spain shows a shift in precipitation regimes (1961–2022) toward more frequent low‐intensity precipitation and reduced high‐intensity events, with localised increases in heavy precipitation along some coastal areas. This redistribution—captured through changes in precipitation frequency (RF) and volumetric contribution (RC ...

Rainfall variability characteristics over the East African coast. [PDF]
Includes bibliographical references. This study explores inter-annual rainfall variability over the East African coast region (Kenya and Tanzania) for the period 1980-2010 and focuses on dry and wet spell characteristics during the two rainy seasons.

Downscaling of Temperatures Over the Eastern Mediterranean for the 21st Century
We developed an analogue‐based statistical downscaling method, using a K‐nearest‐neighbour framework, to project daily maximum temperature (Tmax) and minimum temperature (Tmin) at 32 homogenized meteorological stations. Late twenty‐first‐century (2080–2100) temperature projections obtained using the method, show robust warming across all stations and ...

Evaluation of historical precipitation interannual variability in CMIP6 over the United States
Interannual precipitation variability profoundly influences society via its effects on agriculture, water resources, infrastructure, and disaster risks. In this study, we use daily in situ precipitation observations from the global historical climatology

Long‐Term Analysis of Winter Wheat Yield and Climatic Influences in Ukraine
Long‐term field data (1968–2024) show that winter wheat yields in central Ukraine increased despite warming, but yield stability declined. Rising temperatures, more frequent soil moisture droughts and shortened winter calm increasingly limit productivity.

Quantifying the Seasonal and Interannual Variability of North American Isoprene Emissions Using Satellite Observations of the Formaldehyde Column [PDF]
Quantifying isoprene emissions using satellite observations of the formaldehyde (HCHO) columns is subject to errors involving the column retrieval and the assumed relationship between HCHO columns and isoprene emissions, taken here from the GEOS-CHEM ...

Climatology of Tropical Cyclones Approaching Tanzania and Their Impacts on Rainfall in East Africa
Tropical cyclones (TCs) that approach Tanzania bring heavy rainfall over northern Mozambique, Tanzania, and south‐central Kenya, but the occurrence of these TCs reduces precipitation over southern African countries. Easterly steering winds and the Mascarene High are key features directing TCs westward.

Impact of climate variability on tropospheric ozone [PDF]
A simulation with the climate–chemistry model (CCM) E39/C is presented, which covers both the troposphere and stratosphere dynamics and chemistry during the period 1960 to 1999.

The interannual variability of Africa's ecosystem productivity: a multi-model analysis [PDF]
We are comparing spatially explicit process-model based estimates of the terrestrial carbon balance and its components over Africa and confront them with remote sensing based proxies of vegetation productivity and atmospheric inversions of land ...

Evaluating historical precipitation trends is complicated by interactions between variability in atmospheric circulation and thermodynamic forcing. This study assesses 1901–2023 UK winter precipitation trends in UK Climate Projections 2018 (UKCP18) global climate models using dynamical adjustment to separate circulation‐driven and non‐dynamical ...
