Progression of partial to advanced interatrial block
Journal of Electrocardiology, 2006Interatrial block (IAB), prolonged conduction between the atria, is denoted by P waves of 110 milliseconds or more and may manifest as partial or advanced. Theoretically, partial IAB may progress to its advanced counterpart if conduction delay increases to complete block.

Advanced Interatrial block induced by flecainide
Journal of ElectrocardiologyWe present a case of advanced interatrial block induced by flecainide toxicity. We discuss the implications of this conduction abnormality.

Reevaluation of the Criterion for Interatrial Block
The American Journal of Cardiology, 2006The importance of the interatrial block has often been overshadowed by the debate on the appropriate cutoff to define its excessively wide P waves. However, by far, most publications have accepted P waves of >or=110 ms to represent abnormal interatrial conduction on the electrocardiogram.

New pattern of atypical advanced interatrial block
Journal of Electrocardiology, 2023Interatrial block (IAB) is defined as prolonged P-wave duration (≥ 120 ms) due to delayed conduction in the Bachmann bundle. This is readily identifiable using surface electrocardiogram (ECG). Advanced IAB can be classified as typical and atypical. Atypical IAB can be further categorized by (i) duration or (ii) morphology.

Interatrial and sinoatrial block, with an illustrative case
American Heart Journal, 1946Abstract Sinoatrial block of two types has been described; (1) with progressive prolongation of sinoatrial conduction time leading to a dropped beat; and (2) dropped beats without such preceding conduction changes. These are strictly analogous to the Wenckebach and the Mobitz types of atrioventricular block.

Interatrial blocks: Diagnosis and clinical significance
Medicina Clínica (English Edition), 2020In 1979 Bayés de Luna described interatrial blocks (IAB). Following the same principle of classification of blocks in other structures of the heart, he divided them into first (partial IAB), second (atrial aberrancy) and third degree (advanced IAB). Atypical forms of these blocks were recently described.

Advanced Interatrial Block: A Classic Electrocardiogram
Cardiology, 2005Interatrial block (IAB; P wave ≧110 ms) indicates conduction delay between the right and left atria. IAB can present as partial or advanced and is denoted on the electrocardiogram (ECG) by bifid or biphasic P waves, respectively, the latter in inferior leads.
