Echocardiography, 2020
AbstractThe images focus on a very rare atrial septal anatomy known as "double atrial septum with persistent interatrial space.” Only scarce reports of this anomaly are found in literature. Due to increasing use of catheter‐based interventions requiring a transseptal puncture, the recognition of this anomaly is essential for performing safe and ...

Bronchogenic cyst of interatrial septum
Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, 2011Bronchogenic cyst, also known as inclusion cyst, is a type of congenital endodermal heterotropia derived from an abnormal development of the ventral diverticulum of the foregut or the tracheobronchial tree during embryogenesis. Its interatrial localization is extremely rare and making a final diagnosis without surgery challenges the clinician.

Paraganglioma of the interatrial septum
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1996The case of a patient undergoing successful resection of an interatrial septal paraganglioma is presented. The diagnosis of an interatrial mass was established preoperatively by echocardiography, ultrafast cine computed tomographic scan, and cardiac catheterization.

Hematoma of the interatrial septum
American Heart Journal, 1956Abstract A case of hematoma of the interatrial septum is presented, in which rupture of the endocardium near the stenotic aortic valve allowed dissection of blood into the interatrial septum. A second endocardial defect communicated between the hematoma cavity and the sinus of the left aortic cusp.

Cardiac phaeochromocytoma of the interatrial septum
European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, 1989A patient with a phaeochromocytoma arising from the interatrial septum is reported. A 131I-metaiodobenzylguanidine scan and magnetic resonance imaging were useful for tumour localization. Complete removal of the tumour in the right atrium was performed on cardiopulmonary bypass.

Lipomatous Hypertrophy of the Interatrial Septum
Cardiovascular Surgery, 1994Lipomatous hypertrophy of the interatrial septum, a finding associated with obesity and advancing age, consists of accumulation of adipose tissue including fetal adipose tissue in the interatrial septum. It is a rare lesion of the heart and can reach notable size.

Lipomatous Hypertrophy of Interatrial Septum
Echocardiography, 1995Transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography were utilized to diagnose a patient with lipomatous hypertrophy of the interatrial septum (LHIS). The role of other imaging techniques including computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for differentiating it from other interatrial masses is discussed.
