Hypertrophie lipomateuse du septum interatrial
Annales de Cardiologie et d'Angéiologie, 2010Lipomatous hypertrophy of the heart is a benign rare tumor characterized by fatty tissue deposits in the interatrial septum. Its diagnosis during life is mostly seen incidental. The authors describe a case of a 55 years male, with class II cardiac insufficiency, with a mass in left atrium detected by echocardiography. MR showed a mass with 4cm arising from the interatrial septum, with similar intensity to myocardium on T1, high intensity T2, and intense enhancement after gadolinium.

The Embryology of the Interatrial Septum
2016Knowledge of the embryological development of the interatrial septum can provide the basis for understanding the morphogenesis of some congenital cardiac malformations. The interatrial septum consists of several embryological components including the septum primum, the anterosuperior and the posteroinferior cushions of the atrioventricular canal, the ...

Erdheim-Chester Disease With Interatrial Septum Involvement
Journal of Thoracic Imaging, 2012Erdheim-Chester disease is an uncommon non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis with systemic manifestations. Most cases discuss radiologic findings once a pathologic diagnosis has already been established. We describe a patient with symptoms and no previously known diagnosis who was imaged with computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and positron ...

Cardiac hydatid cyst of the interatrial septum
Wiener Medizinische Wochenschrift, 2009Echinococcal involvement of the heart is a rare occurrence. We report a case of a 46-year-old man with a four-month history of exertional dyspnea and symptoms of atypical angina pectoris, who had a hydatid cyst located in the interatrial septum as well as in the right upper pulmonary lobe. The diagnosis was made by echocardiography, X-ray, and computed
