Lithium intercalation in LixZrS2

Solid State Communications, 1984
We report electrochemical and x-ray diffraction studies of LixZrS2. lT-ZrS2 undergoes a reversible first order transition to the 3R polytype when intercalated with lithium. Co-existing 1T and 3R phases are observed for 0.01 ± 0.01 < x < 0.23 ± 0.01.

Intercalation of Benzamide into Kaolinite

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2000
Well-crystallized kaolinite (K) was initially reacted at 60 degrees C with a water/dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) mixture and the resulting intercalation derivative (K-DMSO) was characterized by powder X-ray diffractometry (PXRD), thermal analysis (simultaneous TG and DSC), and Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

Intercalation of phenylethylamines into?-zirconium phosphate and characterization of intercalates

Journal of Inclusion Phenomena and Molecular Recognition in Chemistry, 1991
The intercalation of phenylethylamines intoα-zirconium phosphate has been investigated by the pH titration method.dl-1-Phenylethylamine (dl-PEA) is taken up in two stages. New phases were obtained: Zr(HPO4)2(dl-PEA) · H2O in the first, and Zr(HPO4)2(dl-PEA)/43· H2O in the second stage.

Superconductivity in Alkali Intercalated C60

Materials Science and Engineering: B, 1992
A model for superconductivity in alkali intercalated C60 is proposed. The key to the high observed transition temperatures is the molecular nature of fullerite. Two different energy scales tintra/tinter ≳ 5–10 for electron hopping on the balls and between balls respectively allow for a large electron phonon coupling constant λ = 2 N · V.

Magnetic susceptibility of vermiculite intercalation compounds with magnetic ions as intercalants

Physical Review B, 1989
The dc magnetic susceptibility of vermiculite intercalation compounds (VIC's), having hydrated ${\mathrm{Ni}}^{2+}$, ${\mathrm{Co}}^{2+}$, ${\mathrm{Mn}}^{2+}$, ${\mathrm{Cu}}^{2+}$, ${\mathrm{Dy}}^{3+}$, and ${\mathrm{Er}}^{3+}$ ions in the interlamellar space between the silicate layers, has been measured in the temperature range between 4.2 and 300 ...

The intercalated cells of the amygdala

Journal of Comparative Neurology, 1986
AbstractThe intercalated cell groups, or massa intercalata, of the amygdala have been studied in rodent brains with Golgi methods. They also have been examined in gallocyanin‐chromalum‐, AChE‐, and Timm‐stained rat brains. The Golgi data indicate that the intercalated cells are not confined to a series of isolated cell clumps but form a neuronal net ...

Raman microprobe observation of intercalate contraction in graphite intercalation compounds

Physical Review B, 1985
Raman microprobe spectra of SbCl5, Br2, and FeCl3 graphite intercalation compounds have been obtained with a spatial resolution of 2 m. Depletion of the intercalate was observed within 10 m of the sample edge in the SbCl5-graphite samples, and this observation is found to be consistent with a model in which the intercalate contracts thermally as the ...

In-plane intercalate dynamics in alkali-metal graphite intercalation compounds

Physical Review B, 1985
Inelastic-neutron-scattering methods have been used to investigate the vibrational spectra of the alkali-metal atoms in M${\mathrm{C}}_{\mathrm{x}}$ compounds, where M=K, Rb, or Cs, and x=8, 24, or 36. Partial phonon densities of states have been determined, in which only in--basal-plane modes associated with the M atoms are represented.

Docking Studies on DNA Intercalators

Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling, 2013
DNA is an important target for the treatment of multiple pathologies, most notably cancer. In particular, DNA intercalators have often been used as anticancer drugs. However, despite their relevance to drug discovery, only a few systematic computational studies were performed on DNA-intercalator complexes.
