Effect of Vinylene Carbonate Electrolyte Additive on the Surface Chemistry and Pseudocapacitive Sodium-Ion Storage of TiO2 Nanosheet Anodes

open access: yesBatteries, 2020
Although titanium dioxide has gained much attention as a sodium-ion battery anode material, obtaining high specific capacity and cycling stability remains a challenge. Herein, we report significantly improved surface chemistry and pseudocapacitive Na-ion

Hydrogel Microtube Drug Carrier for Catheter‐Based Intravascular Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This paper proposes hydrogel microtube carriers composed of barium alginate gel, enabling long‐term vascular retention without interrupting blood flow. Intravascular treatments have long been attracting attention for therapeutic efficacy, yet practical delivery methods remained unestablished.

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

PP‐based nanocomposites with various intercalant types and intercalant coverages

open access: yesPolymer Engineering & Science, 2006
Abstract In this article, nanocomposites based on polypropylene containing montmorillonite, modified with two different intercalants (primary and quaternary amine), at three different coverage levels have been investigated. The specimens were prepared in a mini‐extruder machine with a counter‐rotating configuration.

Achieving Ultra‐Low Contact Resistance via Copper‐Intercalated Bilayer MoS2

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
The high contact resistance between MoS2 and metals hinders its potential as an ideal solution for overcoming the short‐channel effect in silicon‐based FETs at sub‐3 nm scales.

Polymer-clay Nanocomposites

open access: yes, 2004
PhDPolymer-clay nanocomposites are attracting global interest principally because property enhancements are obtained at low clay particle loadings (1-5 wt%). However there is lack of fundamental understanding of such composites.
