Intercalibration of DMSP/OLS by Parallel Regressions

open access: yesIEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2016
The Defense Meteorological Satellite Program—Operational Linescan System night lights offer a unique data set, covering more than two decades. However, for a number of reasons, an intercalibration procedure has to take place in order to reduce year-to-year inconsistencies before a meaningful time series can be established.

Cygnss constellation intercalibration

2017 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2017
The Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS) mission uses a constellation of 8 satellites to measure ocean winds in the tropics with high temporal resolution (∼3 hr median, 7 hr mean revisit). Focusing on the measurement of winds in tropical cyclones, each satellite contains a Global Navigation Satellite System reflectometry (GNSS-R ...

Development and Intercalibration of Ultraviolet Solar Actinometers

Photochemistry and Photobiology, 2000
Ultraviolet (UV) sunlight actinometers were developed based on the photolysis of nitrate and nitrite. Photon exposures (i.e. time-integrated irradiances) were quantified from the photochemical production of salicylic acid (SA) or p-hydroxybenzoic acid (pHBA) formed by the reaction of the hydroxyl radical with benzoic acid.

C-Band Satellite Scatterometer Intercalibration

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2013
A methodology of intercalibration of C-band spaceborne scatterometers is developed and applied to European Remote Sensing satellite-1 (ERS-1), European Remote Sensing satellite-2 (ERS-2), and Meteorological Operational satellite (METOP) scatterometer data.

An intercalibration for trace metals in seawater

Marine Chemistry, 1981
Abstract This paper describes the results of a recent international intercalibration experiment for trace metals in seawater. The results show that considerable improvements in analytical ability have been made for several metals at concentrations close to those found in offshore marine waters.

Intercalibration of Low light level sources

Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, Part B: Hydrology, Oceans and Atmosphere, 2000
Abstract During the 26th Annual Meeting on Atmospheric Studies by Optical Methods an intercalibration of low level light sources was performed. The purpose of this calibration is to provide a comparable scale of intensities of auroral or airglow emissions.

Intercomparisons and Intercalibrations

2005
The institution of large-scale international cooperative research programs in the study of ocean systems has made more rigorous quality control over analytical procedures necessary. A series of intercalibration and intercomparison exercises have shown that increased care is needed in running even those determinations which have been run for years, and ...

A comparison of NDVI intercalibration methods

International Journal of Remote Sensing, 2017
ABSTRACTSensor differences pose a challenge when using normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) data calculated from different sensors. Determining an optimal intercalibration strategy is critical whenever a long-term comparison of NDVI record is required.
