Radiowave Receiving System Intercept Probability Model

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1983
A model is presented for estimating the intercept probabilities of radiowave-acquisition receiving systems. The specific architecture of each of the receiving systems is not important, but there must be two or more of them and they must operate in such a manner that for each trial (event) they alarm independently from a statistical point of view.

Synchronization effects on probability of pulse train interception

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1996
Expressions for the probability of coincidence between pairs of pulse trains are examined. The application to systems of interest in the field of electronic warfare is emphasized. Theoretical results for the limit of uncorrelated pulse trains are reviewed and new theory is developed to cover the case of coincidence between uniform pulse trains where ...

Optimal Detection Considerations for Low Probability of Intercept

MILCOM 1982 - IEEE Military Communications Conference - Progress in Spread Spectrum Communications, 1982
A variety of receivers which can be used to detect the presence of a wideband (spread) signal in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is explored. The optimality of these receivers is founded upon the knowledge (or lack thereof) of certain key signal parameters.

Usage of Costas arrays in Low Probability of Intercept radars

2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015
Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) radars are used to detect targets at low distances by means of coded signals without being intercepted by hostile elements. Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) is one of the signal types used by LPI radars. In LPI radars, the frequency sets of FSK signals, which are constructed with continuous wave, are obtained by using ...

Intercept probability of satellites in circular orbits

Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 1985
Summary: An analytical and computational approach is provided to calculate the probability that a designated transmitter satellite in circular orbit will intercept a particular receiver satellite also in circular orbit. The term intercept implies that the transmitter satellite passes within some minimum distance of the receiver satellite for a minimum ...

Low Probability of Intercept Antenna Array Beamforming

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2010
A novel transmit array beamforming approach is introduced that offers low probability of intercept (LPI) for surveillance radar systems employing phased array antennas. Radar systems are often highly visible to intercept receivers due to the inherent two-way versus one-way propagation loss.

Probability of Wellbore Intercept Made Easy

IADC/SPE Drilling Conference and Exhibition, 2018
Abstract Wellbore intercept probability calculations are important not only for avoiding collisions but also for relief-well planning and planning for wellbore reentry in abandonment projects. This study reviews the current methods for calculating probability and their sensitivity to the input variables.

Low probability of intercept property of binary sidel'nikov sequences

2015 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC), 2015
In this paper, we consider the low probability of intercept (LPI) property of the binary Sidel'nikov sequences. We derive the LPI property of the sequences by deriving the triple autocorrelation bound of the binary Sidel'nikov sequences. The derived bound is approximately twice of square root of the period of the sequences, which is similar to that of ...

Optimizing Probability of Intercept Using XCS Algorithm

2019
In battle scenarios, the amount of RF signals/energy intercepted by a sensor like Radar Warning Receiver is characterized by a metric called Probability of Intercept. Due to increase in density and complexity of radars, achieving optimal POI within given cost-constraints is challenging.

Probability of OFDM Signal Interception in eHealth Applications

2015
The main purpose of the research conducted in this field is to improve senior’s Quality of Life using remote monitoring systems. One of the main problems of these remote systems is the sensitive personal/medical data security. As in different field of e-Health, like telemedicine, where a high data rate is requested, OFDM systems represent a suitable ...
