A waveform with low intercept probability for OFDM SAR
2016 Progress in Electromagnetic Research Symposium (PIERS), 2016In this paper, we propose a novel orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform with low probability of intercept (LPI) and the corresponding synthetic aperture radar (SAR) processing algorithm. The OFDM waveform has a random spectrum for each pulse, making it a good candidate for low probability of intercept system implementation. The SAR

Low Probability of Intercept (LPI)
1998Low probability of intercept (LPI) is the term used for there being a low probability that a radar's emissions will be usefully detected by an intercept receiver in another aircraft or on the ground. For the air battle of the future, LPI is essential. In conventional aircraft the most important need for LPI is to avoid electronic countermeasures.

Low probability of intercept R-Conjugate CDMA codes
IEEE Southeastcon 2009, 2009Privacy and security have become increasingly important in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, for both cellular and military applications. One way to improve security is to use spreading code diversity to transmit user information, a technique known as multi-code CDMA. In this paper, we present a new method of generating codes for multi-code

On the Intercept Probability of DF Relaying Wireless Communication
Wireless Personal Communications, 2018In this work, we determine the probability of intercept for relaying wireless communication over Nakagami-m faded environment. An eavesdropper attempts to intercept the transmitted signal on link between a source and relay as well as between relay and destination. We used the decode-and forward relay to enhance the physical layer security of the system.

Detection of multiple access low-probability-of-intercept networks
Proceedings of TCC'94 - Tactical Communications Conference, 2002Increased demands for highly connective, yet covert, communications in the tactical battlefield have fueled the development of so-called multiple access low-probability-of-intercept (MALPI) networks. Although there have been a number of research efforts regarding the design of MALPI networks, detectability analyses are typically carried out for a ...

Optimalwaveform design for MIMO radarwith low probability of interception
2011 17th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP), 2011In this paper, we consider the waveform design problem of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar in the presence of an interceptor. By the joint considerations of high estimation accuracy and low probability of interception, we formulate the problem as maximizing the mutual information with a constraint on the Kullback-Liebler (KL) divergence ...

A multicarrier CDMA based low probability of intercept network
2010 National Conference On Communications (NCC), 2010The need for covert communication in tactical battlefields has developed the ideas of low probability of intercept (LPI) networks. Spread spectrum communication is used for LPI communication. Multicarrier CDMA is a new type of spread spectrum technique that has been developed in recent years.

Blind parameter estimation of low probability of intercept waveforms
Proceedings 7th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2004. Proceedings. ICSP '04. 2004., 2005A novel algorithm to estimate the parameter of low probability of intercept waveforms is presented, based on RAT, de-chirp and FRFT. Except for carrier frequency and chirp rate of triangular linear frequency modulation continue waveform (TLFMCW), modulation bandwidth and modulation period are also given.

Low Probability of Intercept Performance Bounds for Spread-Spectrum Systems
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1985An important application of spread-spectrum (SS) in military communication systems is that of making the signal difficult to intercept by unauthorized receivers. Error-correction coding techniques may be employed to reduce the required input signal-to-noise ratio at the receiver, allowing the system to operate at a lower power level, hence resulting in

Probability of Satellite Interception by an Air Launched Pre-Guided Missile
ARS Journal, 1961The following note develops a simple computational model containing the timing, operational and mechanistic error parameters expected to be present in at tempts at satellite interception utilizing an aircraft launched, pre-guided missile. Such a model will introduce simplifying approximations, bu t its value lies in its ability to measure the relative ...
