Future Range Shifts and Diversity Patterns of Antarctic Lecideoid Lichens Under Climate Change Scenarios

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, Volume 1, Issue 1, March 2026.
Modeling of current and future spatial distribution of Antarctic lecideoid lichens shows that warming will strongly increase the potential habitat. Under three climate‐change scenarios, most fungal and algal partners are projected to expand inland. Overall, climate change drives widespread range shifts and promotes colonization of interior Antarctica ...

Projected Warming of the Southern Ocean Disrupts Embryonic Development and Hatch Timing in Antarctic Fish

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, Volume 1, Issue 1, March 2026.
Embryos are particularly sensitive to thermal challenge. Antarctic fish embryos raised at projected Southern Ocean temperatures hatch during the winter, have a high incidence of morphological abnormalities, have shorter body lengths, and express genes indicative of cellular stress.

Measurement of Lateral Resolution in Confocal Raman Spectroscopy Using Indium Arsenide Nanowires

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 3, Page 448-458, March 2026.
Lateral resolution is a key performance parameter for confocal Raman spectroscopy. We propose a protocol using an indium arsenide nanowire reference sample to quantitatively measure the resolution. The suitability of the method has been demonstrated through an international comparison with 15 participants. ABSTRACT Lateral resolution is a key figure of

Development of a moored radium in situ sampler to measure annual time series

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, Volume 24, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Radium is a useful tracer of sediment‐derived materials, improving our understanding of the geochemical cycling of elements at ocean boundaries. We have developed an autonomous in situ sampler to collect time series samples of radium isotopes on mooring deployments.

Rainfall Variability and Extremes in the Hamassa Sub‐Basin, Ethiopia: Past Trends and Future Risks

open access: yesMeteorological Applications, Volume 33, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
This study assessed spatial variability and temporal trends in the historical (1986–2023) and projected precipitation regime of the Hamassa sub‐basin. The results indicate a significant drying trend during the main cropping season, marked interannual and spatial variability, and associated linkages to warm‐phase ENSO events, which delay the onset and ...
