String stability of interconnected systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1996For interconnected systems of the type \[ \dot x_i= f(x_i, x_{i- 1},\dots, x_{i- r+ 1}),\tag{1} \] \(i\in \mathbb{N}\), \(x_i\equiv 0 \forall i\leq i_0\) with some fixed \(i_0\), where \(x_i\in \mathbb{R}^n\), \(f: (\mathbb{R}^n)^r\to \mathbb{R}^n\), \(f(0, \dots, 0)= 0\), the authors introduce the notion of string stability.

Observers for Interconnected Systems
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1982Abstract The problem of constructing local state estimators for an interconnected system is formulated and is constructively resolved. It is shown that the 'interconnection zeros' play a central role in the development. The main results include the design of observers for multivariable systems with unmeasurable arbitrary disturbances as well as a ...

The Gemini System Interconnect
2010 18th IEEE Symposium on High Performance Interconnects, 2010The Gemini System Interconnect is a new network for Cray’s supercomputer systems. It provides improved network functionality, latency and issue rate. Latency is reduced with OS bypass for sends and direct user completion notification on receives. Atomic memory operations support the construction of fast synchronization and reduction primitives.

Implementation of interconnective systems
2015 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2015This paper proposes a systematic strategy for the automated implementation of mixed constraint- and input-output-based representations of signal processing systems. Examples of the strategy are provided in synthesizing algorithms derived from signal-flow graphs having delay-free loops, as well as in performing automated system inversion.

An HIPPI interconnection system
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1993The proposed HIPPI standard, a connection-oriented communication standard for very-high-speed interconnection systems connecting high-end computing systems, is discussed. The problems of managing connections and of configuring the interconnection system as either a single crossbar switch or as a clique of crossbar switches are considered.

On the Stability of Interconnected Systems*
Bell System Technical Journal, 1978Theorems are presented concerning conditions for the input-output stability of interconnected dynamical systems. Results in the area of input-output stability are often partitioned into two categories: small-gain type-results and passivity-type results.

Optical interconnects in systems
Proceedings of the IEEE, 2000Future enhancement of system performance will decreasingly rely on reduction in transistor dimensions. Rather, performance gains will increasingly come from improved hardware and software architectures and emerging technologies such as optical interconnects, which provide a new design space for system designers.

The subject of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) standardization is becoming increasingly important to the telecommunications and information processing communities. A number of OSI standards have been completed, others are near completion, and initial product offerings by vendors have begun.
