Tensile Behavior of Intercritically Annealed 10 pct Mn Multi-phase Steel [PDF]
The exceptional elongation obtained during tensile testing of intercritically annealed 10 pct Mn steel, with a two phase ferrite–austenite microstructure at room temperature, was investigated. The austenite phase exhibited deformation-twinning and strain-induced transformation to martensite.

This study investigated the effect of subcritical heat treatment and cold work on the hydrogen embrittlement (HE) susceptibility of the X65 D pipeline steel. Hydrogen charging reduced the ductility of all specimens. Both subcritical annealing and cold working decreased somewhat the degree of HE.

Dry Sliding wear behaviour of Ferrite-Martensite Dual Phase Steels [PDF]
In the present investigation, High Strength Low Alloy Steel (HSLA) was subjected to Intermediate Quench (IQ) heat treatment process at four different intercritical temperatures to obtain Dual Phase(DP) steels of varying percentages of ferrite-martensite ...

Vanadium Precipitation During Intercritical Annealing in Cold Rolled TRIP Steels
Flat carbon steel manufacturers are currently developing new TRansformation Induced Plasticity (TRIP) steels as a response to strong demands for vehicle lightening and security reinforcement from the automobile sector. Compared to conventional high strength steels these advanced grades exhibit a very favourable compromise between strength and ductility

Tailoring the deformation behaviour of a medium Mn steel through isothermal intercritical annealing
A novel concept of varying the strain hardening rate of a medium Mn steel with 8 wt\% Mn by varying the duration of the intercritical anneal after hot rolling was explored. It was found that the stability of the austenite phase showed an inverse square root relationship with intercritical annealing duration and that the maximum strain hardening rate ...

This study proposes a novel high‐throughput experimental method integrating gradient heat treatment and advanced characterization techniques. This method can efficiently establish the processing–microstructure relation in quenching and partitioning steels. As quenching temperature decreases, the fraction of retained austenite initially increases due to

Effect of Fatigue Crack Growth Rate on Varied Percentage of Martensite for Welded DP Steel [PDF]
The objective of this investigation is to study the fatigue behaviour of Dual phase(DP)steel with varying percentage of martensite. The study is conducted on samples of welded Dual phase steel prepared by intercritical ...

Abstract The welding process introduces heat, which may cause softening in the heat‐affected zone (HAZ) of high‐strength steels (HSS). In welded components such as hollow section joints, this localised reduction in strength can reduce the load‐bearing capacity by promoting early failure of the joint and decreasing plastic design strength.

Loading Surface in the Course of Mechanical- Thermal Treatment and Steady-State Creep of Metals [PDF]
: Kinetics of the loading surface of a material gives precious information on the level of the hardening of the material. This paper is concerned with the evolution of the loading surface during successive actions, such as: (i) plastic deformation, (ii)
