Plasma Gelation as an Overlooked Determinant of Transfection Efficiency in Protein Corona‐Coated Lipid Nanoparticles: Implications for In Vitro–In Vivo Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Upon contact with plasma, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) rapidly acquire a protein corona (PC) that redefines their biological identity. In calcium‐containing environments, these coronated particles trigger the formation of a gel‐like plasma network, profoundly altering their transport properties and reducing their effective availability.

Interdependent security experiments [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyzes the behavior of subjects in interdependent security experiments which exhibit strategic complementarity. In these experiments, subjects decide whether to pay to mitigate the risk of a loss, but the exact risk depends on the actions of

Advancing Human Skin Equivalents: The Crucial Role of Neurovascular Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review discusses the importance of integrating vascular and peripheral nerve systems into human skin equivalents (HSEs) to better recapitulate native skin physiology. Recent advances in vascularized, innervated, and neurovascularized HSEs are highlighted, together with emerging bioengineering strategies, current challenges, and future ...

Evolution, systems of interdependence, and social values

open access: yesBehavioral Science, 1988
Human social behavior is strongly conditioned by the interdependence relationships that actors, be they individuals or groups, share, as well as the outcomes or values they pursue for self and/or for interdependent others. The economist Kenneth Boulding (1978) has recently set forth a theory of human social behavior that considers the role of ...

Identifying Interdependent Behavior in an Empirical Model of Labor Supply [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we test a particular form of interdependent behavior, namely the hypothesis that individuals´ choices of hours of work are influenced by the average hours of work in a social reference group.

Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...
