Diffraction analysis of slanted finger interdigital transducers
2000 IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium. Proceedings. An International Symposium (Cat. No.00CH37121), 2001For analysis, Slanted Finger Interdigital Transducers (SFIT) are usually divided into many channels in parallel to the propagation direction. Every channel is considered to be a subfilter. This procedure neglects the diffraction completely. The present paper introduces the diffraction in the SFIT analysis by use of the Angular Spectrum of Plane Waves ...

Equivalent networks for SAW interdigital transducers
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 1994An equivalent network approach is described for the analysis of surface-acoustic-wave interdigital transducers. Circuit parameters can he theoretically determined by applying the finite-element method to an infinite array. In this approach, all the effects of piezoelectric perturbation, mechanical perturbation, and energy storage are taken into account,

Interdigitated PVDF transducer for flaw detection
SPIE Proceedings, 2006Since the recognition of the advantages of using Lamb Waves in nondestructive testing (NDT), Lamb Waves and other guided waves have attracted more and more attention nowadays. Unlike waves used in conventional ultrasonic inspection, such as bulk longitudinal and shear waves, which propagate in the region of structure immediately around the transmitting

A New Interdigital Electrode Transducer Geometry
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1974A new interdigital electrode transducer geometry has been conceived and its theoretical performance verified experimentally. The transducer is composed of sets of electrodes which are connected in series through an offset or "dog-leg" electrode, thereby significantly increasing the electrical impedance of the transducer over that of a conventional one ...

Interdigital Transducer Interaction with SAWS and BAWS
IEEE 1987 Ultrasonics Symposium, 1987The aim of this work is a rigorous approach to the two-dimensional analysis of excitation, propaga- tion and detection of acoustic waves. For the efficient computation of the dynamic charge distribution on IDTs we use the concept of Green's function and the method of moments.

An interdigital transducer for ultrasonic nondestructive testing
Journal of Applied Physics, 1982A technique for nondestructive testing of materials is described, which uses two arched interdigital transducers operating at a liquid-solid interface. The transducer has a frequency-dependent radiation angle. Two pairs of arched interdigital electrodes on the same surface of a piezoelectric substrate are not in contact with the liquid.

The dual harmonic interdigital transducers (DHIDT)
Proceedings of International Frequency Control Symposium, 2002In order to increase the operating frequency, many authors have addressed in different methods to overcome the difficulty of submicron processes in fabrications. Due to the great success that the quasi-harmonic interdigital transducers (QHIDT) have got, this paper presents a structure, called the harmonic dual interdigital transducers (DHIDT), in which

Self-Consistent Theory of Interdigital Transducers
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1972The generation and absorption of surface waves by an interdigital transducer with uniform finger spacing are calculated with the aid of a surface dielectric constant related to the TM-wave impedance. It is found that the response of an infinite transducer can be calculated with complete consistency, i.e., the field due to the distortion of the ...

Interdigitated interdigital transducer for surface elastometry of soft damping tissue.
IEEE transactions on ultrasonics, ferroelectrics, and frequency control, 2015Measurement of the shear elastic constant of soft and highly damping tissue of high Poisson ratio is quite a challenging task. It is proposed to evaluate shear wave velocity and damping of tissue by measuring the shear skimming bulk waves using one interdigitated interdigital transducer on a piezoelectric layer, such as polyvinylidene fluoride, applied

Electrode Resistance Effects in Interdigital Transducers
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1974A distributed RC circuit model is used to describe an interdigital electrode transducer (IDT) having finite conduction in the electrode stripes. The distributed circuit is described by a set of differential equations whose solutions yield the current and voltage distributions along the aperture of the IDT.
