Interdigital transducer analysis using equivalent PSpice model

Ultrasonics, 2002
Interdigital transducers generating surface acoustic waves have found numerous applications. The present paper deals with an equivalent model of a single interdigital transducer as well as an SAW filter complying with the PSpice programme for the analysis of electronic systems.

Description of interdigital transducers

Journal of Applied Physics, 1972
Interdigital transducers can be represented as a linear array of elements that emit and reflect surface waves. This phenomenological description enables one to calculate the properties of these transducers accurately, provided that weak reflections between short-circuited finger pairs are taken into account.

Equivalent networks for SAW interdigital transducers

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 1994
An equivalent network approach is described for the analysis of surface-acoustic-wave interdigital transducers. Circuit parameters can he theoretically determined by applying the finite-element method to an infinite array. In this approach, all the effects of piezoelectric perturbation, mechanical perturbation, and energy storage are taken into account,

A New Interdigital Electrode Transducer Geometry

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1974
A new interdigital electrode transducer geometry has been conceived and its theoretical performance verified experimentally. The transducer is composed of sets of electrodes which are connected in series through an offset or "dog-leg" electrode, thereby significantly increasing the electrical impedance of the transducer over that of a conventional one ...

Acoustic fields from PVDF interdigital transducers

IEE Proceedings - Science, Measurement and Technology, 1998
Interdigital transducers (IDTs) made from the piezoelectric polymer PVDF have been built; they transmit ultrasonic Lamb waves into 1-2 mm thick steel and aluminium plates and receive signals reflected from features in the structure. The IDTs are designed to be permanently bonded to the structure under inspection.

Liquid velocity measurement using interdigital transducers

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1981
A system for measuring the velocity of a flowing liquid is presented using three interdigital transducers, one of which is used for the radiation of the compressional wave into the liquid. The velocity is estimated from the measurement of the output voltage corresponding to the phase difference between two output signals detected at the output ...

Ultrasonic Array Transducer Using Interdigital Electrode

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1984
A `planar array transducer' with interdigital electrodes is proposed. This paper describes the structure of the transducer and experimentally investigates its behavior and realization feasibility. A transducer directivity using PbTiO3 ceramics with a large electromechanical anisotropy shows the independent behavior of an array element that consists ...

Interdigitated PVDF transducer for flaw detection

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
Since the recognition of the advantages of using Lamb Waves in nondestructive testing (NDT), Lamb Waves and other guided waves have attracted more and more attention nowadays. Unlike waves used in conventional ultrasonic inspection, such as bulk longitudinal and shear waves, which propagate in the region of structure immediately around the transmitting

The dual harmonic interdigital transducers (DHIDT)

Proceedings of International Frequency Control Symposium, 2002
In order to increase the operating frequency, many authors have addressed in different methods to overcome the difficulty of submicron processes in fabrications. Due to the great success that the quasi-harmonic interdigital transducers (QHIDT) have got, this paper presents a structure, called the harmonic dual interdigital transducers (DHIDT), in which

An interdigital transducer for acoustic imaging

Applied Physics Letters, 1977
We have devised a simple acoustic focusing device with an interdigital transducer in which all radiation from each section of the transducer constructively interferes at a focal point in water. The device is applicable to the acoustic imaging in both transmitting and reflecting modes.
