Self-Consistent Theory of Interdigital Transducers
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1972The generation and absorption of surface waves by an interdigital transducer with uniform finger spacing are calculated with the aid of a surface dielectric constant related to the TM-wave impedance. It is found that the response of an infinite transducer can be calculated with complete consistency, i.e., the field due to the distortion of the ...

SAW Transducers for NDE Applications Using Interdigital Bulk Wave Transducers
1981 Ultrasonics Symposium, 1981A new SAW transducer for NDE applications utilizing bulk-to-surface mode conversion is proposed and studied in theory and experiment. In this transducer an interdigital electrode on a piezoelectric block is used to generate and detect the angle beam of bulk waves.

Acoustic focusing device with an interdigital transducer
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1977We have devised a new type of simple acoustic focusing device with an interdigital transducer in which all radiation from each section of the transducer constructively interferes at a focal point in water. The position of the focal point of the device is variable by changing the carrier frequency of an electrical signal applied to the transducer.

Electrode Resistance Effects in Interdigital Transducers
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1974A distributed RC circuit model is used to describe an interdigital electrode transducer (IDT) having finite conduction in the electrode stripes. The distributed circuit is described by a set of differential equations whose solutions yield the current and voltage distributions along the aperture of the IDT.

Measurement of the shear elastic constant of soft and highly damping tissue of high Poisson ratio is quite a challenging task. It is proposed to evaluate shear wave velocity and damping of tissue by measuring the shear skimming bulk waves using one interdigitated interdigital transducer on a piezoelectric layer, such as polyvinylidene fluoride, applied

Interdigital transducers for piezoelectric interfacial waves
12th International Conference on Microwaves and Radar. MIKON-98. Conference Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.98EX195), 2002Piezoelectric interfacial waves (PIWs) propagate along conducting planes embedded in piezoelectric crystals: shortening of the electric field by the plane reduces the elastic wave velocity and provides the waveguiding mechanism. Propagating inside the body, PIWs are well protected from environmental interference and thus, PIWs are interesting for ...

Electromagnetic leakage suppression by interdigital transducers
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1975A simple interdigital transducer layout is used in conjunction with a differential amplifier to obtain a high degree of suppression of direct electromagnetic leakages in surface acoustic wave devices. The degree of suppression can be adjusted independently of the device design.

SAW filters with weighted tapered interdigital transducers
IEEE 1992 Ultrasonics Symposium Proceedings, 2003Results of the investigations of 50% wideband surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters with 70-MHz central frequency and multichannel filters with weighted tapered interdigital transducers (TIDTs) are presented. Computer results are given for different constructions of SAW filters with TIDTs to which variable metallization ratio, apodization, capacitance ...
