3D interdigitated electrode array in the microchannel free of reference and counter electrodes

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2018
We demonstrate the three-dimensional (3D) interdigitated array (IDA) chip that operates without reference and counter electrodes, which are necessary components to apply enough potential to trigger the intended redox process, but used unwieldy for chip-based electrochemical detection.

Fabrication of Interdigital Electrodes for Monolithic Biosensing

2021
Interdigital electrodes/contacts (IDCs) based sensors are widely used in a variety of chemical and biological sensors, which presents promising advantages such as high sensitivity, low electron mobility, enhanced gate conductivity and increased signal to noise ratio.

A Micromachined Electrochemical Angular Accelerometer Based on Interdigital Electrodes

2021 IEEE 16th International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems (NEMS), 2021
This study proposes a micromachined electrochemical angular accelerometer based on interdigital electrodes, with the ability to measure low-frequency angular acceleration. In this paper, the design, fabrication, and characterization of the angular accelerometer were included, with a sensitivity of 100 V/(rad/s2) at 0.01Hz.

Piezoelectric Fiber Composites with Interdigitated Electrodes

Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 1997
Piezoelectric Fiber Composites were previously introduced as an alternative to monolithic piezoceramic wafers for structural actuation applications. This manuscript was an investigation into the improvement of piezoelectric fiber composite performance through a nonconventional electroding scheme.

Dielectrophoretic liquid lens driven by interdigitated sidewall electrodes

Optics Letters, 2023
This paper proposes a dielectrophoretic (DEP) liquid lens that is driven by interdigitated electrodes distributed on the sidewalls and has a structure similar to that of the electrowetting one produced by the company Corning.

Interdigitated electrode modelling for applications in dielectrophoresis

2011 IEEE ICMTS International Conference on Microelectronic Test Structures, 2011
Electrical test structures have been designed to enable the characterisation of interdigitated electrode structures in conductive solutions, as used in dielectrophoresis. Test masks have been fabricated to explore the impact of array size, finger separation and solution conductivity on the applied electric field.

A CMOS Lock-In-based Read-out for Interdigitated Electrodes

2020 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), 2020
An analog lock-in amplifier (LIA) designed to be used in portable sensing applications for high-resolution voltage/current detection is presented. Fully differential circuits for signal amplification and embedded high pass filtering were used in order to increase noise rejection reaching a CMRR at 100 kHz of 109 and 149 dB and low input-referred noise <

Fabrication of masks for evaporated interdigital electrodes

Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1978
A simple method for the fabrication of interdigital evaporation masks is described. The accuracy of the electrode separation is better than 5% at a separation of 0.2 mm. A minimum electrode width of 0.1 mm can be achieved with this method.

A low-frequency resonator with interdigital electrodes

International Journal of Electronics, 1984
A low-frequency resonator is described. The resonator, operating in a flexural mode, has interdigital electrodes on one surface of a thin piezoelectric ceramic plate. The interdigital electrodes are used as terminal electrodes of a one-port resonator as well as for poling treatment.

Electrode Resistance Effects in Interdigital Transducers

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1974
A distributed RC circuit model is used to describe an interdigital electrode transducer (IDT) having finite conduction in the electrode stripes. The distributed circuit is described by a set of differential equations whose solutions yield the current and voltage distributions along the aperture of the IDT.
