Soft matter engineering for cellular bioelectronic interfaces

2023
In nature, interactions between living systems and charged entities occur across multiple scales (cells, tissues, organ systems). These interfaces between electrical and living systems, known as bioelectronics, can be leveraged to monitor and modulate biological functions.

Fusing Interfaces with Matter, Humans and Machines

Proceedings of the Symposium on Spatial User Interaction, 2018
Advances in the past century have resulted in unprecedented access to empowering technology, with user interfaces that typically provide clear distinction and separation between environments, technology and people. The progress in recent decades indicates, however, inevitable developments where sensing, display, actuation and computation will seek to ...

Religion and medicine: interfaces that matter.

Texas medicine, 1991
Positive relationships exist between medicine and religion. Three elements upon which religion and medicine interface are reverence and awe, power, and particularity. Implications of each of these areas and their pertinence in medical decision making are illustrated.

The interface tension in hot QCD matter

Nuclear Physics A, 1991
Abstract The pure gauge QCD can exist in the colour confining low temperature and non-confining high temperature phases. At the critical temperature Tc these two phases can coexist with an interface in between. We calculate the interface tension α associated with this interface by using a lattice Monte Carlo technique.

Organic Matter at the Sediment-Water Interface

1993
This chapter will consider the term “sediment-water interface” as a double entendre and discuss the interface both as the horizontal zone where the water column meets the sediment column and as the wetted surface of mineral grains which occur in this horizontal zone. Hereafter, the first definition will be termed the “sediment-water interface,” and the
