Effect of colloidal weight at different planar interfaces [PDF]
In many physical and biological systems, particles and microorganisms move in the proximity of an interface. Understanding the dynamics of a particle suspended close to an interface is not only important conceptually but is crucial for practical applications ranging from the treatment of waste waters to industrial applications of self-assemblies.

Dynamics of microswimmers near a soft penetrable interface [PDF]
Few simulations exist for microswimmers near deformable interfaces. Here, we present numerical simulations of the hydrodynamic flows associated with a single microswimmer embedded in a binary fluid mixture. The two fluids demix, separated by a penetrable and deformable interface that we assume to be initially prepared in its planar ground-state.

Gapped Interfaces in Fracton Models and Foliated Fields [PDF]
This work investigates the gapped interfaces of 3+1d fracton phases of matter using foliated gauge theories and lattice models. We analyze the gapped boundaries and gapped interfaces in X cube model, and the gapped interfaces between the X-cube model and the toric code. The gapped interfaces are either "undecorated" or "decorated", where the "decorated"

Energy Variation of Soft Matter Interfaces
The variation of energies associated with soft matter interfaces where surface inhomogeneities are present. These energies include the total bending and splay energy, the variable surface tension energy, a coupling energy between the total curvature and an underlying surface concentration field, the energy due to an external field, and a phase ...

Matters of geoportal interfaces designing
The article is devoted to a detailed analysis of the problem of designing graphic geoportal interfaces. The authors formulated the basic points for solving problems in this field, having given the rationale and detailed description of each of them. The emphasis is made on the flexible arrangement of the design and development of interfaces, aiming at ...

Phase field models of active matter [PDF]
We present an overview of phase field modeling of active matter systems as a tool for capturing various aspects of complex and active interfaces. We first describe how interfaces between different phases are characterized in phase field models and provide simple fundamental governing equations that describe their evolution.

Cascading Quantum Light-Matter Interfaces
The ability to interface multiple optical quantum devices is a key milestone towards the development of future quantum networks that are capable of sharing and processing quantum information encoded in light. One of the requirements for any node of these quantum networks will be cascadability, i.e.

Flow boundary conditions from nano- to micro-scales [PDF]
The development of microfluidic devices has recently revived the interest in "old" problems associated with transport at, or across, interfaces. As the characteristic sizes are decreased, the use of pressure gradients to transport fluids becomes problematic, and new, interface driven, methods must be considered.
