Color and language as man-machine interface parameters

International Journal of Intelligent Systems, 1989
Growing use of terminals for CAD/CAM as well as the general proliferation of work stations justifies focusing attention on effective communication at the terminal interface. Color is often used to enhance the flow of information even though many aspects of color are still not well understood.

On the universal misfit parameter at mismatched interfaces

Scripta Materialia, 2001
Abstract A general expression for an universal misfit parameter explored in the epitaxy of dissimilar materials, is derived. This universal parameter accounts both for crystal lattice mismatch and elastic dissimilarity of constituent phases. The application of the proposed approach to epitaxy of cubic metals growing on (0 0 1) SrTiO 3 , is discussed.

Computation of Moving Boundaries and Interfaces and Stabilization Parameters

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2003
AbstractThe interface‐tracking and interface‐capturing techniques we developed in recent years for computation of flow problems with moving boundaries and interfaces rely on stabilized formulations such as the streamline‐upwind/Petrov–Galerkin (SUPG) and pressure‐stabilizing/Petrov–Galerkin (PSPG) methods. The interface‐tracking techniques are based on

Dynamic modeling and parameter identification of a parallel haptic interface

Proceedings 10th Symposium on Haptic Interfaces for Virtual Environment and Teleoperator Systems. HAPTICS 2002, 2003
This paper describes the dynamic modeling of a five degree of freedom parallel haptic interface. A novel hand/mechanism partition is used to define the mechanism so that the model can be built up from five identical actuator rod models. The dynamic equations for each rod are first derived using the Newton/Euler equations and are then linearized to ...

Investigation on parameters at the concrete-FRP interface

2004
The aim for this research was to study a specific problem related with the repair of RC structures: the behaviour at the FRP-concrete interface. The 2D-non-linear finite element package called SARA® has been used, because it is able to get a realistic assessments of a structure based on a probabilistic ap-proach.
