An Electrochemical Impedance Study of AISI 321 Stainless Steel in 0.5 M H2SO4
The electrochemical behavior of passive films formed on AISI 321 has been examined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. AISI 321 is characterized by high interfacial impedance, thereby illustrating its high corrosion resistance.

Dielectric relaxation of interfacial polarizable molecules in chitosan ice-hydrogel materials
The functionalities of hydrogel-based smart materials are highly related to the electrostatic interactions and molecular polarization associated with the polymer networks and encapsulated water droplets, and therefore the dielectric responses of the ...

Atomic-scale compensation phenomena at polar interfaces
The interfacial screening charge that arises to compensate electric fields of dielectric or ferroelectric thin films is now recognized as the most important factor in determining the capacitance or polarization of ultrathin ferroelectrics.

Correlating polar distortions and interfacial charge at the polar/non-polar LaCrO3/SrTiO3 (001) interface [PDF]
The relationship between the sheet carrier concentration, ns, of LaCrO3(LCO)/SrTiO3(STO) heterostructures and their structural properties has been investigated. Under low oxygen partial pressure, the STO substrate is reduced during growth as evidenced by a high ns of 1016 cm−2.
