Laser Interference Microscopy for Nanobiotechnologies
Biomedical Engineering, 2013Interference microscopy is widely used in different areas of science for comprehensive study of optical and geometric properties of various microand nanoobjects. The fact that phase imaging makes it possible to overcome the classical resolution threshold has been well known since the 1950s (1).

An Application of Holography to Interference Microscopy
Applied Optics, 1968An experimental two-beam interference microscope has been constructed which uses a hologram to generate one of the beams. This eliminates the need for selecting matched optics as required in conventional systems. Using the techniques described in this paper, one can modify a conventional bright field microscope to produce horizontal and oblique section

Interference reflection microscopy
2002Interference reflection microscopy (IRM) utilizes interference of light reflected from closely aposed surfaces to provide an image containing information about the separation of those surfaces. In cell biology, IRM is used to image structures at the base of adherent cells and to measure cell-substratum distances, as well as to investigate mechanisms of

Point-diffraction interference microscopy

Confocal Interference Microscopy
SPIE Proceedings, 1989Confocal imaging is a coherent technique so that the amplitude and phase information can be extracted using interference techniques. A confocal interference microscope has been constructed based on a Michaelson interferometer. Phase changes of 25 mrad., corresponding to height changes of 1 nm. can be detected.

Surface-height measurement noise in interference microscopy
Optical Engineering + Applications, 2018The pursuit of low noise in interference microscopy for topography measurement is relevant to many surface types, ranging from super-polished optical surfaces to weakly-reflecting or scattering textures that require enhanced signal sensitivity.

Contributions to Interference Microscopy
Transactions of the American Microscopical Society, 1965W. Krug, J. Rientz and G. Schultz Translated by J. Home Dickson London: Hilger and Watts. 1964. Pp. 394. Price 126s. This book is the English version of Beitrage zur Interferenz Mikroskopie, originally published in East Germany in 1960. Apart from the Introductory Chapter, it falls into three distinct parts, each contributed by one of the authors.
