Interlayer‐Catalyst Method for Metal‐Assisted Chemical Etching of Ultra‐High Aspect Ratio Silicon Nanostructures

An advanced patterning method is presented for metal‐assisted chemical etching. The interlayer replaces the resist and enables catalyst deposition on a clean interface. The prepared samples show improved performance with a more reproducible etching profile, higher aspect ratio, and increased consistency over a larger area.

The Influence of the Pretreatment of Tool Steel on the Running‐In Phase of Diamond‐Like Carbon Coatings

The influence of tool steel pretreatment on the running‐in behavior of TiNb‐diamond‐like carbon (DLC) coatings is investigated. Ion etching promotes carbide protrusion and increases coating roughness, while post‐deposition polishing reduces surface asperities.

Abstract During their life cycle, prestressed concrete bridges are prone to wire breaks of their tendons due to fatigue or stress corrosion cracking. Wavefront sensing at a high‐repetition‐rate X‐ray free‐electron laser
