Abstract Objective Maternal obesity and excess gestational weight gain (GWG) are linked to adverse perinatal outcomes, potentially via disruption of the maternal–fetal stress axis. Placental HSD11B2 protects the fetus from excess glucocorticoids and may influence fetal programming during maternal metabolic stress.

The gut–mammary axis integrates intestinal health with mammary function through neural, endocrine, and immune pathways. Nutritional interventions (probiotics, prebiotics, metabolites) improve gut microecology, generating microbial signals that travel via the axis to the mammary gland. There, they relieve inflammation, enhance milk quality and lactation,

Reading trauma as an intergenerational phenomenon
The twentieth century is the era of human violence and anger, tragedy and trauma. The world in this century witnessed the most unforgettable scenes of global wars, massacres, labor camps, terrorism, and collective catastrophic incident, especially Holocaust, which has been the most terrifying type of mass murder and torture. In this respect, the trauma

Strategies and mechanisms of precision genome engineering: From gene editing to genome writing
In this review, we examined the progression of genome manipulation from stochastic nuclease‐mediated cutting toward precise editing and programmable genome writing. We discussed tools like multi‐kilobase RNA‐guided integrators and Artificial Intelligence (AI)‐designed effectors and showed how these advances enable researchers to treat genomes as ...

Maternal and infant gut microbiome
The maternal–infant continuum involves critical windows of host–microbiota co‐adaptation. Preconception, maternal and paternal microbiomes modulate immunity and reproduction. During pregnancy, a gut–placenta axis emerges, where microbial metabolites influence fetal growth or contribute to complications like gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM ...

From ecological principles to precision engineering of plant microbiomes for sustainable agriculture. The plant holobiont integrates diverse microbial niches (including rhizosphere, endosphere, phyllosphere, seed, and aerial‐root mucilagesphere), host genetics (namely M genes), and host metabolites. Furthermore, molecular dialogues, including rhizobial

This comprehensive review highlights the transformative role of 3D printing and bioprinting technologies in the regeneration of female reproductive organs and the treatment of gynecological diseases. Unlike previous overviews that focus narrowly on isolated applications, this work provides an integrative analysis of recent clinical and preclinical ...
