Interior permanent magnet linear synchronous motor for high-performance drives

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1997
Permanent magnet linear synchronous motors have been developed for factory automation, transportation applications, and so on. In the rotary-type permanent magnet synchronous machines, the wide speed and constant power operation are realized by using the reluctance torque due to the saliency and the flux-weakening control. In this paper, we examine the

STABILITY OF INTERIOR PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS

Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1989
ABSTRACT This paper presents a model to study the stability of interior-type permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motors. It includes the study of sudden change in operating conditions when the machine is operated in open loop conditon. Simulation results show that the reduced order models of FM machines provide sufficient accuracy to predict the machine ...

Parameter identification for interior permanent-magnet synchronous motor

2007 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2007
To realize the high performance drive for vector controlled interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs), the exact motor parameters are required. However, motor parameters vary with driving conditions. In this paper, parameter variation effect is quantitatively presented for maximum efficiency control and flux-weakening control.

Parameter Estimation of an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

2019 16th Conference on Electrical Machines, Drives and Power Systems (ELMA), 2019
In this paper a method for the inductances evaluation of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) is presented. The two-axis flux linkages are estimated by the air-gap flux density fundamental components obtained by means of FE simulations combined with the frozen permeability method and the discrete Fourier transform.

Estimation of parameters of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2002
This paper presents a magnetic circuit model to the estimation of machine parameters of an interior permanent magnet synchronous machine. It extends the earlier work of Hwang and Cho that focused mainly on the magnetic aspects of motor design. The proposed model used to calculate EMF, d- and q-axis reactances.

Nonlinear control of interior permanent-magnet synchronous motor

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2003
This paper presents a novel speed control technique for an interior permanent-magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive based on newly developed adaptive backstepping technique. The proposed stabilizing feedback law for the IPMSM drive is shown to be globally asymptotically stable in the context of Lyapunov theory.

OPTIMIZATION AND ANALYSIS OF AN INTERIOR PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Energy Technology
This paper aims to optimize an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor and analyze the operating characteristics of optimized models compared to the starting model. The optimization is done by optometric analysis, i.e., four motor parameters are selected and varied within certain boundaries, allowing new motor models to be obtained from each ...

Evaluation of saturation and cross-magnetization effects in interior permanent magnet synchronous motor

Conference Record of the 2001 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 36th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.01CH37248), 2002
This paper presents the evaluation of saturation and cross-magnetization effects in an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) over the entire range of direct- and quadrature-axis excitations. The conventional two-axis machine model is modified in order to include the influence of saturation and cross-coupling effects on the variation of ...
