Modelling and simplification of a human thermoregulation model for thermal comfort regulation in a car interior

1999 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (Cat. No.99TH8399), 1999
This paper describes a mechatronic approach in order to define regulation strategy for a climate controller for car interior. This strategy takes into account the car passenger's thermal sensations. A thermal sensations model and different techniques to simplify this model are presented.

Thermal comfort in interior and semi-open spaces of rural folk houses in hot-humid areas

Building and Environment, 2018
Abstract Semi-open spaces are a key element in the climate adaptive design of rural folk houses and are important places where rural residents perform daily activities in hot-humid areas. In this study, a year-long thermal comfort field survey was conducted in rural folk houses in 11 rural areas in the Guangdong Province, the hot-humid area of ...

Sensitivity analysis and multi-objective optimization of energy consumption and thermal comfort by using interior light shelves in residential buildings

Renewable Energy, 2020
Sunlight is one of the most accessible environmental agents which has been used as primary energy source. In current study, the effect of daylight distribution in interior spaces on human thermal comfort conditions and energy consumption in the residential buildings is investigated based on light shelf using simulation methods and tools.

Characterization of Energy Savings and Thermal Comfort Improvements Derived from Using Interior Storm Windows

2013
This field study of a single historic home in Seattle, WA documents the performance of Indow Windows’s interior storm window inserts. Energy use and the temperature profile of the house were monitored before and after the installation of the window inserts and changes in the two recorded metrics were examined.

Improved Passenger Thermal Comfort Prediction in the Preprototype Phase by Transient Interior CFD Analysis Including Mannequins

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2002
<div class="htmlview paragraph">It is the overall objective in the development of automotive climate control systems to guarantee a subjective feeling of thermal comfort for each passenger. The fulfillment of all physical specification parameters of a HVAC unit, such as airflow, temperature, etc., does not automatically achieve this goal ...

Numerical evaluation of the effects of different types of shading devices on interior occupant thermal comfort using wind tunnel experimental data

Building Simulation, 2019
In this study, it is aimed to determine the effects of shading device alternatives on the thermal sensations of occupants in a cross-ventilated office zone by considering changing indoor airflow velocities in summer conditions. Interior airflow velocities on 3 vertical profile heights were measured for 5 cases in a wind tunnel.
