Evaluation of Interlaminar Stresses in Composite Laminates with a Bolt-Filled Hole Using a Linear Elastic Traction-Separation Description

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
Determination of the local interlaminar stress distribution in a laminate with a bolt-filled hole is helpful for optimal bolted joint design, due to the three-dimensional (3D) nature of the stress field near the bolt hole.

The evolution of interlaminar endoscopic spine surgery

open access: yesJournal of Spine Surgery, 2020
Due to the aging population, patients required spinal surgery for degenerative spondylopathy is increasing. With the advent of surgical instruments and techniques, minimally invasive spine surgery is prevalent worldwide. Besides microscopic techniques, endoscopic spine surgery has gotten attention gradually in this surgical field for the past two ...

Enhancement of the Through‐Thickness Electrical Conductivity of Carbon‐Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Using Large Graphite Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
To enhance through‐thickness conductivity without sacrificing impregnation, large spherical graphite particles are intentionally employed in a low‐viscosity resin. Unlike finer conductive fillers, these particles remain outside the fiber bundles and accumulate in resin‐rich interlaminar regions during molding.

The interlaminar fracture-behavior and toughening mechanisms of new carbon-fiber-reinforced bismaleimide composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The interlaminar fracture behaviour of carbon fibre-reinforced bismaleimide (BMI) composites prepared by using a new modified BMI matrix has been investigated by various methods. Laminates of three typical stacking sequences were evaluated.

Structure‐Guided Dynamical Mechanics in Bioinspired Double Twisted Laminated Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores a dynamic mechanistic study of crack propagation and puncture testing via real‐time monitoring of crack initiation, propagation, and termination through nature‐inspired single and double twisted architectures fabricated from cellulose nanocrystals.

Development of a Finite Element Methodology for Modelling Mixed-Mode Delamination Growth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A critical failure mechanism for composite skin-stiffened structures in compression is separation of the skin and stiffener, which can be considered analogous to interlaminar cracking.

Structural Power Composites Based on High Mass Loading Zn‐Ion Hybrid Supercapacitors with Metal Mesh Current Collectors and Aramid Nanofiber/Glass Fiber Composite Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional structural power composite is developed by integrating high‐mass‐loading Zn‐ion hybrid supercapacitors with metal mesh current collectors and aramid nanofiber‐based composite electrolytes, enabling simultaneous load‐bearing capability and enhanced areal energy storage.

"Interlaminar properties of stress absorbing layer with styrene-butadiene-styrene/crumb rubber co-modified asphalt based on warm mix asphalt technology"

open access: yesHecheng xiangjiao gongye, 2022
Three warm-mixed agents were added into the styrene-butadiene-styrene block polymer (SBS)/crumb rubber (CR) composite modified asphalt, and the composite specimen was made of stress absorbing layer mixture with the resulting modified asphalt.

Development of a Finite Element Analysis Methodology for the Propagation of Delaminations in Composite Structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Analysing the collapse of skin-stiffened structures requires capturing the critical phenomenon of skin-stiffener separation, which can be considered analogous to interlaminar cracking.
