A Review of Mechanical Reinforcement and Piezoresistive Self‐Sensing in Carbon Nanotube Fiber Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
PSPP‐TRL mapping of CNT‐modified CFRP literature, with four recurring confusions resolved and five scale‐up problems quantified. ABSTRACT Carbon nanotube‐modified fiber composites are often presented as a route to stronger, tougher, and self‐sensing structural materials.

Study on Automated Placement Setting Agent and Placement Process of Dry Fiber

open access: yesTransactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics
During the automated placement process of dry fibers, the positioning and fixation of dry fiber gauze belts are achieved by spraying setting agents. The amount of the setting agent is difficult to control when it is sprayed manually.

Interlaminar Shear Characteristics of Typical Polyurethane Mixture Pavement

open access: yes, 2022
Polyurethane (PU) can be used as a road material binder, and its mechanical properties, durability, temperature stability, and other road performance metrics are good. However, the interlayer bonding between PU mixtures and asphalt mixtures is poor.

Mode I and Mode II Interlaminar Fracture Toughness of Basalt/Kevlar Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Resin Hybrid Composites Incorporating Graphene Nanoplatelets

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Processing the Mode I and Mode II fracture analysis Basalt/Kevlar fiber reinforced hybrid composites with GnP. ABSTRACT This research examines the Mode I and Mode II fracture behavior of basalt/Kevlar fiber reinforced epoxy hybrid composites augmented with graphene nanoplatelets (GnP). Hybrid composites containing varying concentrations of GnP (0, 1, 2

Effect of curing overheating on interlaminar shear strength and its modelling in thick FRP laminates

open access: yes, 2016
During the curing process, the exothermic cross-linking reaction inside epoxy resin-based composites causes overheating and, eventually, a thermal degradation of the matrix.

Experimental Comparative Analysis of Hole‐Making Strategies and Cutting Parameters on Flexural Properties and Induced Delamination in S2 Glass and Basalt Fiber‐Reinforced Polymers

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Hole‐making strategy and machining parameters influence delamination and hole quality in S2‐glass and basalt FRP composites, which subsequently affet flexural performance. Improved hole integrity leads to enhanced structural performance during three‐point bending.

Improvement of water absorption behavior and mechanical properties of woven jute fiber‐reinforced epoxy composites with waste eggshell filler

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
This study investigates the influence of waste eggshell powder on the water absorption and mechanical properties of jute fiber‐reinforced epoxy composites. Optimal eggshell filler content (2 wt%) significantly enhances composite performance by reducing water absorption and improving mechanical properties.
