Control and Elimination of Cracking of AlGaN Using Low-Temperature AlGaN Interlayers [PDF]
We demonstrate that the insertion of low-temperature (LT) AlGaN interlayers is effective in reducing mismatch-induced tensile stress and suppressing the formation of cracks during growth of AlGaN directly upon GaN epilayers., Stress evolution and ...

Silicone breast implants are presented as a model system for understanding polymer permeation in vivo. Rather than representing material failure, “gel bleed” emerges from solution–diffusion transport‐mediated. By integrating polymer architecture, physicochemical transport, and biointerfacial processes, this review provides a unified framework that ...

HF-CVD of diamond coatings onto fluidized bed (FB) treated CrN interlayers
In the present investigation, Fluidized Bed (FB) treatment is applied to pre-treat CrN interlayers onto WC-Co substrates to promote the growth on them of highly adherent diamond coatings.

Analysis of Seepage Effects on Seabed Slope Stability Under Earthquake Loading
To find out the combined effect of seismic action, seepage, and sandy and argillaceous interlayers on the seabed slope stability, the safety factors of seabed slopes, which include sandy and argillaceous interlayers, under different hydraulic gradients ...

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

Formation and stability of Al, Fe, and Mg interlayers in montmorillonite and vermiculite [PDF]
The effects of pH and time on the formation of hydroxy-Al, Fe, and Mg interlayer were compared for montmorillonite and vermiculite. The stability of interlayers was evaluated by sequentially increasing the severity of dissolution treatments and by ...

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination
