The Borgna-Converter: An Alternative Solution to interleaved DC/DC Converters

2019 21st European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE '19 ECCE Europe), 2019
In this work, a family of new and simple topologies for highly efficient, non-isolated electronic power converters is being introduced. The basic idea of this inverter family goes as follows: Two subconverters of the well-known topologies buck, boost or buck-boost are being connected in parallel, virtually forming an interleaved converter.

DCM operation of interleaved DC/DC converters for PV applications

2012 15th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (EPE/PEMC), 2012
In this paper the interleaved operation of boost converters employed in a photovoltaic power processing system is proposed. By forcing the converters to work in discontinuous conduction mode, an high voltage conversion ratio and a significant noise rejection capability are obtained.

Decentralized interleaving of paralleled dc-dc buck converters

2017 IEEE 18th Workshop on Control and Modeling for Power Electronics (COMPEL), 2017
We present a decentralized control strategy that yields switch interleaving among parallel-connected dc-dc buck converters. The proposed method is based on the digital implementation of the dynamics of a nonlinear oscillator circuit as the controller. Each controller is fully decentralized, i.e., it only requires the locally measured output current to ...

Interleaving optimization in synchronous rectified DC/DC converters

2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004
Interleaving in synchronous rectifiers can lead to reduced losses in both the active and passive components. However, this depends on selecting the correct number of phases and the correct phase inductance for a particular application and requirements. In this paper optimizing the number of phases and the phase inductance is considered to maximize the ...

Single and interleaved split-pi DC-DC converter

2017 IEEE 6th International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications (ICRERA), 2017
This paper presents analysis, design, and implementation of the high-frequency split-pi converter. Split-Pi converter has distinctive features like the symmetry of the input and the output components. Also, the continuity of the input and output currents makes this converter more desirable in applications like electric vehicles and power management ...

Research on Interleaved Bidirectional DC/DC Converter

2016
Interleaved bidirectional DC/DC converter uses interlaced structure and carrier phase-shifted method, which achieves better performance at a lower current ripple and more stable output voltage characteristics as well as high energy density. In this research, the structure of the two-channel topology with phase-shifting of 180° is introduced, which ...

An Active Snubber Cell for -Phase Interleaved DC–DC Converters

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2014
An active snubber cell and its dual circuit for reducing switching losses of 1 to N phase dc-dc converters is presented. Main switch(s) of the converter can be turned-on and - off at zero-voltage (ZV); auxiliary switch of the proposed snubber cell can be turned-on at zero-current (ZC) and turned-off at ZV.

Implementation of an interleaved ZVS/ZCS DC/DC converter

TENCON 2011 - 2011 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2011
This paper presents an interleaved soft switching converter to achieve ripple current reduction, zero voltage switching (ZVS) turn-on for MOSFETs and zero current switching (ZCS) turn-off for fast recovery diodes. Active snubber circuit is used in the adopted circuit not only to absorb the energy stored in the leakage inductor but also to achieve ZVS ...

A Bidirectional DC/DC interleaved converter for supercapacitor applications

2012 5th European DSP Education and Research Conference (EDERC), 2012
In this paper, an interleaved converter has been studied. The control system structure, the modelling and the implementation of step-up/step-down have been simulated and presented. The whole system has been simulated with the PLECS/Simulink simulation software in order to validate the theoretical model.

DC-DC interleaved boost converter using FPGA

2013 IEEE Conference on Clean Energy and Technology (CEAT), 2013
This paper presents the design of dc to dc Interleaved Boost Converter (IBC) which is controlled using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The output voltage can be controlled by Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) switching technique which is implemented on the Altera DE2-70 Board.
